Nose jobs.

A bit of lunchtime pondering here - so forgive me - but do you ever think nose jobs don't improve people? I mean often their original nose suited their face far more, fitted their overall facial structure and looks oddly less attractive when altered?

Also what do you say to your Dc that inherit it? (If you have them). "No darling, your nose is perfectly fine but FYI mummy/slash/daddy got rid of theirs??

My DM had one age 20. She kept it completely secret and wasn’t found out because there are v few pics of her as a child/teen - poor family without a camera in the days when they were a luxury.

I always hated my nose, DM always went on about how it was character, suited my face etc. When I was late teens my aunty let slip what DM had done. To be fair, when I saw a pic she did have an absolute honker and my nose is not like her original at all.

I think if self esteem is involved then a small procedure like a nose job to fix that is understandable but so too is a desire for your kids to see themselves as perfect in spite of imperfections.

I had a normal-ish nose. It’s been broken 3 times and is now massively croooked. If money wasn’t an issue I’d get it fixed. I wouldn’t want a perfect nose- just the normal-jag one I had before the breaks.

Someone I know had one.

It is still massive but they botched it and so now it's huge and crooked with wonky nostrils.

Looks awful, truly awful.

I had mine done last year. To be honest it is much better than it was but still not the exactly what I hoped it would be. No regrets and it has made my appearance better but still not what I thought it would look like

OP I don't think you realise what an impact changing someone's nose can have on their life.... this video was what inspired me to train in non surgical rhinoplasty...

I had a nose-job at 22 (am now 51), and it was an improvement, 100%. The old nose was a real beak, whereas my new one is just, well, normal. Not a little Michael Jackson pixie nose - it looks like the nose I was meant to have.

Luckily (for them) not one of my 3DCs have inherited my "genetic" nose. DD2 looks most like me, but has swerved the big hooter. They have all seen photos, and are very relieved!

Honestly not being a judgy-pants. I probably watch too much trash celeb tv and think you really didn't need to do that.

There are obviously more serious cases.

I think if someone has always hated their nose and does their research and chooses a good surgeon and has a realistic idea of what can be achieved it can be great.

But these days it seems like every other C List reality star has to have a nose job whether they 'need' (not that anyone needs one as such) or not. So these celebs start off with a perfectly nice nose and then end up in Michael Jackson territory. There was one young woman on Towie who had a lovely nose and now post surgery has a......less lovely nose shall I say.

The thing with noses is there's no going back and it can drastically change a person's appearance, far more so than any other type of cosmetic surgery.

I'm glad Cheryl Payne (is that right?') are they married? Why do I even care? Kicks self. Anyway HER, glad she's kept her mini nose bump, suits her face perfectly- would even say it enhances her beauty.

Lots of 'slebs (and others but mainly slebs) are going to end up looking exactly the same and not in a good way.
