Hair disaster!

So I went to get a haircut by my friend (she is a mobile hairdresser) today. She has cut my hair in the past, and done a decent job. I asked her to cut some long graduated layers into my hair - even showed a pic of what I was after.

She cuts hair in her kitchen, so I couldn't see what she was doing until she had finished - and I had to dash to work straight after so didn't really check it properly. It wasn't until I saw the horrified looks on my colleagues faces that I realised something bad had happened. When I got home I realised I essentially had a mullet! Truly it is awful!

I went to a local salon, who couldn't believe the state of my hair, when she showed me - I burst into tears! It was chopped, hacked, uneven and the shortest layer was a massive chunk above ear level. The stylist offered to try and blend the layers but advised it will probably be about 10 weeks until it has grown enough to look okay!

I can't believe my friend has done this to me - she must have seen what a mess she had made. I see her on a daily basis on the school run, but I have no idea how i'm going to face her. I keep wondering if she did it on purpose, but I don't think she's like that. She has also had some stress recently, but as another friend pointed out, if she wasn't up to it she shouldn't have done it.

I just wonder whether I should talk to her about it and risk falling out over it (she is quite a fiery character) or try and ignore it and move on. I am devastated - I know i'll never let her near my hair again!

Wow that's really awful - speaking as someone who has walked out of th hairdresser's in the past completely gutted, I really sympathise. I'd be tempted to get it all cut into a sleek bob or long bob, to make it clear that you were really unhappy with her cut, without actually having to say so...
