Retinols

I've recently started using a retinol cream at night with factor 50 during the day.

I've found after two weeks that the lines around my eyes are deeper and I've got new small lines on my cheeks. I've done a bit of googling which offers some assurance but you can't believe all you read so I'm just wondering if I should make an appointment to se a dermatologist.

Has anybody else experienced a short term increase in wrinkles since using retinols?

Maybe nobody else has had this problem. For info though, if anyone does in the future. About an hour after applying last night my skin peeled a little and after gentle massaging a layer seemed to come off and now it's a lot better. So worth sticking with it!

I think it just looked worse the last couple of days as it was all dried up and ready to come off!

No, I haven't had this. I had some skin peeling. I use facial cleansing sponges to gently exfoliate. This deals with the skin peeling before it's allowed to develop a thicker dryer surface.
