Wide feet but narrower ankles- help with shoes please

Title says it all. The front of my feet are very wide, but my ankles are smaller proportionally. I want some leather or suede moccasin/ slippery style shoes (not ballet flats and not sketchers type thing) for summer that aren’t black. Everything I try on gapes along the side of my foot. I’ve tried wide foot ranges in Next, M&S and even went to the Ecco shop. I’ve attached a picture of a pair of Next shoes showing where they gape on me for reference.

Can anybody recommend any decent shoes for me?

I have the same problem. Shoes gape at the side and are loose at the heel. They are like flipflops on me.

I'm the same. I've recently discovered that mango and Benetton shoes fit me better than most but not sure if they have anything the style you want.

Perhaps these? There is no "side" to gape. I dont know whether this style of heel might be an issue though?

I'm glad someone else has this problem. I find I need to try on anything before buying as most shoes on line are too narrow. I also have problems with shoes rubbing so those seasalt ones look like trouble

Don’t call me Charlotte. They look nice, but I live in wet and rainy Manchester so need something that covers my whole foot.

I know I need something that goes higher up my foot (as opposed to being like a ballerina shape) but they are so hard to find. After another trying on sessikn yesterday these were the best bet but they still gaped a little bit so I could see a tiny bit of the lining when I was standing in them. www.clarks.co.uk/c/Netley-Lola/p/26130935

I can't buy shoes online either goose1964. It would be an utter waste of time for me to traipse backwards and forwards to the post office with returns. It would take months to buy a air of shoes this way.

People who buy shoes online must have very standard shaped and sized feet or be happy to wear uncomfortable shoes - something I absolutely refuse to do.
