I have the following items ordered. I wanted to check that this is the right order to use them, how to use and if I need anything else?

Morning:
1 - Buffet
2 - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
3 - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA

Evening
1 - Buffet
2 - Granactive Retinoid 2% in squalane

I need to get Rose hip oil and want to try the caffeine but was out of stock.

Hyaluronic acid first, then buffet in the am.

I use hyaluronic first (not the ordinary but hada labo) , then the retinoid in the pm. This provides a buffer for the retinoid.

Don't forget a decent spf in the morning.

Littlechocola · 19/03/2018 15:15

Thank you Missis. Great advice! Yes, spf at the ready!

It’s arrived. I’m going to wait until tonight to try it.
Am I right in thinking that I need to introduce the products gradually? So maybe just try the Retinoid tonight?

You shouldn't any issues with the hyaluronic acid, but just try using the retinoid once or twice a week so you can build up gently.

Littlechocola · 19/03/2018 20:49

Thank you! Do I need any other products or should this do everything that I need?

OP posts:
Littlechocola · 19/03/2018 20:50

Also sorry for all of the questions!

Apparently you have to put the hyaluronic acid onto damp skin, otherwise it doesn't work. This makes sense, I didn't rate it at all but I wasn't putting it in damp skin.

The Buffet is awesome!

Polkadot1974 · 19/03/2018 20:53

Where did you find the NMF in stock?

Luckingfovely · 19/03/2018 20:56

I've been building up gradually over a year, and currently have a regime like this:

Am: Hyalaronic Acid, then Buffet

Am: Hyalaronic Acid, then Buffet, then one of the following three combos in rotation over three days:

Retinoid, then Rose hip oil
Alpha Lipoic Acid, then Reservatrol
Vitamin C, then Squalane

Things I have learnt:

Build up slowly.

Hyalaronic Acid is the only thing I've found that actually keeps moisturise in my skin.

Don't put any Retinoid on your nose or chin or you will erupt.

I have put at least three bottle of Caffeine in the bin - kept trying it but it made my eyes sting like I'd poured acid in them every time. Never again.

Leave a few moments between each of you can.

Luckingfovely · 19/03/2018 20:57

Sorry - second Am should obvs have read Pm.

LynetteScavo · 19/03/2018 22:59

I'm partly marking my place.

I've been using the Retinoid for a couple of weeks, as it was recommended. I like it, but am confused as to what else I need. Presumably the Buffet? Confused

ClickHip · 19/03/2018 23:24

I emailed Deciem for advice before I got my stuff. They said buffet then hyalauric acid. Not heard abot the damp skin thing either. So does it actually matter what order it goes on??? Confused now...

Luckingfovely · 19/03/2018 23:50

This is the full guide here:

theordinary.com/regimenguide

The key thing to remember is that you have to put any water-based solutions on before any oil-based solutions, in order for them to penetrate effectively.

Buffet and HA are both water solutions, so it shouldn't really matter. I find HA goes on best first and then Buffet, as the HA feels lighter and it seems to absorb better this way.

buddahbelly · 20/03/2018 06:30

Glad someone else couldn't take to caffeine, it made my eyes look shocking every time I used it on them.

Also didnt know that about the retinoid, my chin has been breaking out dramatically and ive developed new age spots on my forehead in 2 months...wonder now if it has something to do with the sequence im using these, off for a good read of that link above.

Littlechocola · 20/03/2018 06:40

Polka - the Deciem website.
Lucking- fantastic. Thank you!

Thank you!

Littlechocola · 21/03/2018 19:02

I’ve been using the Hyalaronic Acid for two days. I think I like it but too early to tell. I want to try the buffet but might wait a couple of days.

Userfroggypants · 21/03/2018 19:51

I was also told to use Buffet before HA. Have been using for a few weeks now and my skin definitely feels a lot better so hopefully I'm doing something right! The Caffeine seems to be ok for me so far.

BennyTheBall · 21/03/2018 19:56

I have just received an order. This time I have got the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane (2nd time - love this), Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and the High-Spreadability Fluid Primer.

Didn't get Buffet this time as I felt it was a bit Emperor's New Clothes.

Littlechocola · 22/03/2018 08:53

In what way Benny?

OP posts:
BennyTheBall · 22/03/2018 10:22

I used it daily for the whole bottle but it made no discernible difference and doesn't even feel nice imo.

People of the Facebook page say it promotes eyelash and eyebrow growth, but made no difference to mine.

Littlechocola · 22/03/2018 10:25

I’m finding the Facebook page quite odd. It all sounds like a chemistry lesson.

Grobagsforever · 24/03/2018 09:04

Just started on the HA and rose hip oil. Skin looks better after a few days! Might add buffet and retinol..

bonfireheart · 24/03/2018 21:02

Can I ask what skin type you are OP? Am trying to figure out what to get. My skin is acne prone, but also dry. So am trying to understand what I should/should not get.

Userfroggypants · 25/03/2018 20:32

I have oily skin but dehydrated, and I was suggested Caffeine solution (for puffy eyes), Buffet, HA (for hydration) Argan oil. I got all my stuff from Victoria Health but I don't think they're supplying The Ordinary products any more.
