What colour Birkies?

I've been wearing white Arizona Birkenstocks for a few years and fancy a change. I'm quite liking the copper/rise gold pair, but is silver more practical?

What colour Birkies do you have/covet?

Have red patent, black patent, silver and bronze. I need white this year. I only like the Madrid style.

MrsPeacockDidIt · 19/03/2018 12:40

I have lots of birkies and the most worn pairs are the silver and navy

InspiredByIntegrity · 19/03/2018 13:49

I have two pairs of the Arizona Papillo - which means coloured & patterned ! Favourite pair have a bright blue/pink paisley pattern & metallic turquoise fasteners. Probably shouldn't be on style & beauty

FlorenceLyons · 19/03/2018 13:54

I have the copper ones. I love them - they go with everything imo. I do wear a lot of copper / rose gold jewellery, though, so I guess that helps.

HotCrossBun12 · 19/03/2018 13:55

Mine have a white strap and a pink bit at the top of the sole. Best summer shoes ever

ElspethFlashman · 19/03/2018 13:55

I find silver goes with everything.

HuskyMcClusky · 19/03/2018 13:57

I only wear silver jewellery but I must admit, I saw someone in rose gold Arizonas the other day and they were gorgeous!

NinjagoNinja · 19/03/2018 13:59

I have a black pair and a white pair.

I think they're ugly but I live in them from May to September!

Strongbeatsskinny · 19/03/2018 14:03

MIne are silver and go with everything

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 19/03/2018 14:20

I've got some bronze-y coloured ones and they go with bloody everything.

carrie74 · 19/03/2018 17:57

Right I've order d both and will decide when they come. I love the look of the coppery ones, but suspect they won't suit my cool colouring, and silver will be better for that...

The copper looks good!

Rathkelter · 21/03/2018 20:39

I'd avoid the rose gold. I had a pair and the colour scratched off in no time so returned them.
I like Sydney. Have them in pearlescent white from Amazon. They also come in a pearly hazelnut and apple green and pale pink.
Slightly narrower straps than the Arizona so they are much cooler in the heat.

I like the coppery ones best but actually like both

carrie74 · 21/03/2018 20:43

Silver would definitely be in my comfort zone but I think the copper ones look trendier Grin. I've still got my old white ones too...

I have white and iridescent snake skin effect, the latter goes with most colours as it's a dark base with purple , blue and greeny lights

ElspethFlashman · 22/03/2018 00:06

goose are those the shiny snake??

I've wanted those since last summer!

ImNotReallyAWaitress · 22/03/2018 00:08

Shiny snake black multi is 😍

The rose gold mirror stones are really nice and so are the rose gold washed.

paradyning · 22/03/2018 07:02

Love the washed rose gold but they're out of stock

Tough decision OP. I'd probably wuss out and go with silver then regret not getting copper!

carrie74 · 22/03/2018 07:11

Right, I'm going for the copper. Boom, roll on summer!!

paradyning · 22/03/2018 07:56

Yay! Where did you order from OP?

Todamhottoday · 22/03/2018 08:34

Im not a fan of the Arizona style but have a pair in a dark pearled blue, they make my feet look, well kind of odd and find them quite uncomfortable to walk in.

But being a fan of Birkies for as long as I can remember, I prefer the Gizeh style and my most worn colour had been the mid brown (over and over again), but also have them in silver, black patent, white, light blue.

Have 3 pairs of the Madrid, patent hot pink, black and dark gold. I do like the Mayari, but have not tried them.

But what Im finding now is the cork sole is not as tightly packed as it once was made and have 3 pairs that are split at the sides where your foot bends. Also one pair where the edging at the back is coming away, in previous pairs none of this has come away before. I know you can get them re-soled but its too much of a effort.

But having tried other similar brands I still keep coming back to Birkinstocks, and I usually buy them in Germany as you can get different colours and sometimes they are in the sales. But I do think the prices are creeping up to much now, but sure I will keep buying them.

Also TKMaxx do get them in and on line from time to time

carrie74 · 22/03/2018 08:56

Just Amazon paradyning. We're off on hols Saturday morning so I needed them to get here and still have time to return a pair! Not really any time to break them in however. Hey ho...

Thanks toodam. I used to wear the Gizeh ones as well and then started to get irritated by the toe post, so abandoned them. Then wore the Mayaris for a few years and just got tired of the style, so moved onto Arizona (coincidentally, also when they became fashion darling shoes).

I've bought from footshopping (Germany) previously, they've had great prices, but I've noticed them creeping up too (and I needed a guaranteed faster delivery this time). There are so many sellers on Amazon, though, so can definitely shop around.
