Has anyone machine washed their Hobbs trench coat?

If so what was the result?

I've got the Saskia one in navy and worn it all autumn and winter and it's looking tired. It says dry clean only.

There aren't many dry cleaners round here, i've no idea how to choose a 'good' one, and i'm starting to eye the washing machine ...

TIA

No don’t do it! I have this coat and it comes back from the dry cleaners looking immaculate. If you wash it, it will never iron as neatly

I haven't tried ironing it Blush

So ... not even in a mash bag? On a gentle cycle?

It's muddy here. The belt gets shut in the car door almost daily, DD4 and her sticky little mits are on it a lot and the elbows are regularly dipped in coffee puddles at soft play. I was going to keep it for best but i've sort of ended up living in it. And it shows.

Haha that’s just reminded me. Mine has been sat in a bag to go to the dry cleaners for about a year Blush

If I can get my car out (snowed in) I might be a rebel and actually take it today.

Not sure about Hobbs, but DP once machine washed my trench coat ages ago. No amount of ironing made the wrinkles go away. Even dry cleaning and specialist ironing after that. Don't do it....
