Me and DH have 2 weddings/wedding parties to attend this year, May and June, and I have just seen this in the & other stories sale and need persuading to order now for then.

Thinking it is pretty perfect for a wedding right?

Well...I think it’s fine for a wedding, but it’s just a bit...I don’t know, flat somehow? Makes that gorgeous model look a bit non descript. Sorry, it’s just not to my taste. You’d probably not like what I would choose, it’s so subjective

OlennasWimple · 18/03/2018 21:07

I like it but those shoes are awful and it would look a lot better if the model was stood up straight (I know that makes me sound like my mother....)

Order it and see how it looks on you?

MadMags · 18/03/2018 21:08

Um...no, I don’t think so! Sorry! It’s a bit dowdy and meh.

I’m not sure the colour would suit for spring/summer weddings either!

Spam88 · 18/03/2018 21:17

I don't think red is really appropriate for a wedding 😬

goose1964 · 18/03/2018 22:46

The way the model is standing makes it really difficult to see the cut. I still prefer to shop in physical stores where you can try it on. I can't afford to just buy something in multiple sizes just to see, though so maybe I'm biased

IfYouDontImagineNothingHappens · 19/03/2018 07:22

I don't like it. Pretty boring.

HildaZelda · 19/03/2018 12:23

How old are you OP? It's a bit, erm, frumpy. Brings to mind Phoebe from "Goodnight Sweetheart".

@spam88, why is red not appropriate for a wedding? Confused

NewNameADayKeepsSpiesAway · 19/03/2018 12:41

Lordy if red’s unsuitable for a wedding and white or black are also out there aren’t going to be many colours left! Especially when you have to avoid looking like a wannabe bridesmaid which rules whatever their colour is out.

I can’t see why red itself would be an issue. This dress however is a smidge frumpy. Sorry OP.

DavidPuddy · 19/03/2018 14:37

Red grabs the attention of the eye in photos. A good photographer will make sure you're out of shot. That may bother some people, it may not bother others. Just to indulge in a little truism there.

Spam88 · 19/03/2018 15:18

Yeah photos is my issue 😬 our photographers mentioned that they tend to black and white any photos where there's a guest wearing red.

Unexpectedbaby · 19/03/2018 19:41

Thank you all. This is what I needed honest opinions. DP is useless with this haha.

I'm only 27 and wouldn't class my normal style as frumpy so will steer clear Grin

I just wouldn’t wear red to a summer event!

OP, you can get something much more flattering and less dowdy I’m sure! Any other choices?

calzone · 19/03/2018 19:57

It’s a funny length and quite frumpy.

I’m sure we can help you do better.

Unexpectedbaby · 19/03/2018 19:57

I've not really started looking too much if I'm honest. Just saw this and liked it. Wanted opinions so I knew I wasn't just going to impulse buy and then dislike it come May Blush
