Rollerbird · 17/03/2018 18:58

I fancy having a go myself.
Is it easy?
Has anyone got any recommedations for a make? Or an avoid make?
Must be easy and foolproof and work amazingly!

Avoid all the crap in boots/Superdrug. Go straight to Refectocil professional tints. You mix them with an oxidant developer and they work. There are different shades depending on what you want. I use the blue black. I buy off amazon

Bugjune · 17/03/2018 19:18

Another vote for Refectocil.

lucy101101 · 17/03/2018 19:19

Yes Refectocil - amazing - I use the sensitive one

Tantpoke · 17/03/2018 19:23

I just use the eyelure dye kit which works fine for me. I use the black one and bought it from boots, it has everything you need in one box and is super easy to use.

JDSTER · 17/03/2018 19:32

Yes refectocil. I buy on Amazon. It’s what professionals use and I agree with spork bypass Boots/Superdrug offerings which tend not to last as long.

Rollerbird · 17/03/2018 19:34

Right
Off to research refectofil!

You need the 3% oxidant developer

Rollerbird · 17/03/2018 19:55

Not daylight but do you think natural brown? Or dark brown? I would use black mascara but if i match the lashes and brows it might look better?
I have Grey and brown hair which is not showing on the photo. Not too much grey.
The kit? - At least i will get the brush and dish www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0091GENW0/ref=mp_s_a_1_3_a_it?ref=plSrch&keywords=refectocil+natural+brown&dpPl=1&dpID=4178ps8pCxL&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1521316366&sr=8-3

I definitely wouldn’t get natural brown for lashes. I’d suggest a darker colour, particularly since you use black mascara anyway. You really won’t notice the natural brown on your lashes. I’m blonde but still go for blue/black with an eyelash tint. I wouldn’t and don’t dye my eyebrows the same I hasten to add Grin

ClaireFraser · 17/03/2018 20:10

Can you use rectocil on brows too?

JDSTER · 17/03/2018 21:09

Yes Claire

Rollerbird · 17/03/2018 22:03

Ive ordered it.
I will be applying hopefully on Thursday and will report back with photos!

I use blue black on my eye lashes and light brown (3.1) on my brows. They don’t ‘match’ but that’s fine. I don’t want them to. I’m blonde, I’d look insane with beetle black eyebrows.

SporkInTheToaster · 18/03/2018 09:38

If you get any excess dye on your skin it can be removed with glycolic acid (like the nip & fab pads). Obviously don’t use those on eyelids though. Best for dye stains around brows. It won’t remove the dye from the hairs but will take the stains off the skin.

Rollerbird · 18/03/2018 13:09

Do you vaseline the eyelid and under eye?

OP posts:
Bugjune · 18/03/2018 14:10

I don't bother with vaseline, no. I do sometimes rub it into my brows afterwards if they're a tad too dark, it cleans the dye stain off the skin without the need to scrub.

SporkInTheToaster · 18/03/2018 18:56

No, I don’t bother with Vaseline. I clean up over spill with a clean cotton bud before starting the timer to keep it as neat as possible and reduce risk of colouring outside the lines, so to speak.

Rollerbird · 20/03/2018 10:42

It came early yesterday
I had a quick go this morning
Loads easier than i thought to apply.
I got brown for brows and black for lashes
When applying brows they didnt look very dark so i added a bit of black - they are too dark now but not horrible.
Lashes think i need to do another coat but still happy.
Thanks everyone
I love this stuff

Looks great!

Next time leave it on for an extra 5mins or so, I'm very fair and it seems to need a bit of extra time to develop fully.
