Mending and darning service

This is supremely lazy but I have quite a few clothes that each need a little fixing. The moths have been on a cashmere munching rampage resulting in lots of small holes in many garments and I’ve got some skirts where the hem has dropped. Is there a business that I could send the lot to and pay them to fix them???

Most dry cleaners offer mending services.

Either dry cleaners, or certainly round here there are quite a few repair/alterations people. My local one is fabulous and she can repair just about anything

Try and find one you go to direct because with a dry cleaner you are essentially paying twice as they pay the tailor and then add on a good whack too for their time and getting the business etc .

I take all this type of thing to a local seamstress who I found on Google. I started off taking some very basic things. Once I realised how good she was I've had her tweak the fit of some clothes.

Will seamstresses darn moth holes?!

People will do anything within their job description if you are paying them.

Go to a wedding dress store and ask for seamstress contact details; they will usually have a list of at least a few.
