Without the black tights and boots obviously! For a spring wedding and possibly a 40th birthday party in the summer. I’m rubbish at knowing what looks good since having kids, I live in jeans and trainers!

Not a big fan of the latticework at bottom

MrsFrTedCrilly · 16/03/2018 17:25

I think it looks really pretty and suitable for the intended occasions. I think a metallic shoe/sandal would look good as well.

Alexkate2468 · 16/03/2018 17:30

I have to say that I think it's frumpy. I can imagine someone over 50 wearing it with a hat and navy court shoes (not be that all over 50s are frumpy). Its the combination of length with the high neck line and the floral print...

Saying that, it's how you feel in it and what you put with it that could make it work. Wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong about an outfit.

ReversingSnail · 16/03/2018 17:33

I like it and think it suits you.

Bexter801 · 16/03/2018 17:35

I think it's pretty,but maybe a bit too long,and the lace,all makes it a tad oldfashiony

BusterGonad · 16/03/2018 17:44

I too think it's a bit aging. It is pretty and I don't know our age BUT I do think it looks a bit more of an older ladies dress.

BusterGonad · 16/03/2018 17:45

Your age.

Whatisthewhatisthewhat · 16/03/2018 17:50

Also think frumpy, sorry!

Whatisthewhatisthewhat · 16/03/2018 17:52

You have a great figure btw but I think your boobs are too big for that dress. Sorry to be overly personal!

Bluntness100 · 16/03/2018 17:53

I also think it's lovely. Very flattering.

OutyMcOutface · 16/03/2018 19:37

It looks very nice OP. Would go well with nude court shoes. I disagree with posters who would call it frumpy. It’s more ageless than aging. As a general rule you shouldn’t wear clothing if it cannot be pulled off equally well by a stylish 20 something as a stylish 50 something. Quite frankly anything that isn’t suitable for a woman who is 50 plus is such because it lacks elegance. Good pick. Don’t forget to get a cardigan/shawl/something if it’s a church wedding. Well done OP.

MagicFajita · 16/03/2018 19:46

Your figure looks lost in it op. I think you need a shorter dress and/or one with a less busy pattern.

leccybill · 16/03/2018 19:51

Truly, I think there's nicer out there for £130. It's a bit twee.

Allthepinkunicorns · 17/03/2018 18:43

Its the wrong length for you, try something knee length and something more fitted. There are plenty of lovely floral dresses around at the moment. Asos has loads.

Paddingtonthebear · 17/03/2018 18:47

I’m 42 and I wouldn’t wear it, I think it’s quite frumpy, sorry! The neckline would def look matronly on me too.

You have a great figure, I would look for something else

pinkhorse · 17/03/2018 18:57

It's very frumpy, sorry!

Spartacunt · 17/03/2018 19:03

Denim jacket and tan chunky heels - job done.

Oblomov18 · 17/03/2018 19:05

Love the dress!

KarenfromFinance · 17/03/2018 19:41

Very pretty. Classy for wedding. Not frumpy imo.

Cantdoitallperfectly · 17/03/2018 20:12

I'm sorry but I agree with PP - it's too old and a bit frumpy for you. If you want to do lace it always looks best if it's one solid block colour. This dress from Boden is beautiful and would suit your figure, the scoop neck at the back is subtle and sexy.. and you would be able to wear this again with flats and a denim jacket.

Cantdoitallperfectly · 17/03/2018 20:13

Ps I like the navy version best :)

raindropsandsunshine · 17/03/2018 20:48

That Boden dress! I usually don't like Boden but that's stunning. Wish my bank balance was up to that level of shopping!

RickOShay · 17/03/2018 21:35

Much prefer the boden one.
I am 50 and for an upcoming wedding and I am thinking of wearing either a jumpsuit or silk shirt and cigarette trousers. I did find a beautiful dark green silk dress with a high neck, but very sadly could not get it over the norks.
I find dresses very tricky, Think the boden one would look lovely on you.Smile

Botanicbaby · 18/03/2018 10:28

Think it looks great on you, definitely needs the right heels though Smile

cheeseslovesme · 18/03/2018 10:47

I think it's perfect for a wedding. I like it, and think it suits you. Will look even better with summer heels. Smile
