Brown spots on back of hands help!

Bananacustardyum · 14/03/2018 17:56

My hands are really aging me. I don’t know if anyone has tried anything which works to cover the brown spots on the back of your hands? Please tell me any types.

Skin lightening cream is one solution. The over-the-counter creams don't do much; you'd need a cream prescribed by a private doctor. Or laser skin lightening if you can afford that.

I was wondering if vit c etc work

mercurymaze · 14/03/2018 18:15

they told me in space nk that nothing can solve it - apart from surgery

Laiste · 14/03/2018 18:28

I think age spots are melanin.

When i use a heafty sun screen every day religiously it fades them over time.

cheeriosandcornflakes · 14/03/2018 18:58

Hand Chemistry hand cream has improved mine a lot and reduced the spots. It is £££ but worth it.

Anjelika · 14/03/2018 19:09

I found the Nip n Fab pads really helped mine when used every day. Not too pricey eitherSmile

OnlyTheDepthVaries · 14/03/2018 19:18

Anjelika Which nip and fab pads please?

Growingboys · 14/03/2018 21:06

I had a couple of age spots on my hands layered and that got rid of them.

Yukky scab for a week maybe but then: all gone!

LakieLady · 14/03/2018 22:14

Bio Oil applied nightly will help them fade.

It's working a treat on my 62-year old hands.

Dontsayyouloveme · 14/03/2018 22:27

IPL laser treatment is very good at fading age spots/sun damage/pigmentation Smile

Bananacustardyum · 14/03/2018 22:33

Thanks everybody I’ll try out some of the suggestions. I can’t afford laser treatment but thanks for the tip. Smile

OnlyTheDepth it was the Glycolic Fix cleansing pads. I found them way too harsh for my face so on a whim tried them on my hands and they really worked.

Apple Cider Vinegar with Mother works really well for removing age spots

omBreROSE · 16/03/2018 06:16

Dotty
With mother ? Smile

DottyDotts · 16/03/2018 22:12

Apple Cider Vinegar with Mother is what it's called. It means it has the cloudy good stuff in it (unrefined, unpasteurised And unfiltered) the beneficial bacteria. It's the acetic acid that helps remove age spots etc

Dontsayyouloveme · 17/03/2018 09:51

DottyDotts - would it be ok to use on the face?

Catsandkids78 · 17/03/2018 09:54

If you’re using any kind of acid pads on them you need to be apply daily factor 50 as otherwise you could actually damage your skin more

Catsandkids78 · 17/03/2018 09:54

Also I wouldn’t put ACV on face - you will damage the skins barrier as way too acidic.

prettywhiteguitar · 17/03/2018 11:27

I have IPL laser and it's about £40 a time, that fades age spots the best. Or pigmentclar from le rosay posey after laser, you will fade it with nip and fab pads but they will come back because you need to kill the damaged cells below the skin, which IPL does

pandorawithtreaclecolouredhair · 17/03/2018 15:34

Clarins Restorative hand cream ( in the red tube) is very good for anti ageing and fading brown spots.
It's expensive, but you only need to use a little, and concentrate on the back of the hands.
I use it overnight, and just use a cheaper hand cream during the day, so the tube lasts for a while.

Want2beme · 17/03/2018 16:10

Dontsayyouloveme I tried it on my face and hands but it didn't work. I also had laser treatment and that didn't work either. I've tried other treatments too but they didn't work. I wish I could find something that would get rid of them.

DottyDotts · 17/03/2018 17:54

ACV contains alpha hydroxy acids so removes dead skin and reveals new skin. I use on age spots and leave for awhile then wash off. Has removed mine and skin is still lovely. I use coconut oil after.

omBreROSE · 17/03/2018 17:55

Thank you Dotty :)

DottyDotts · 17/03/2018 17:59

omBre It did take me about a month for it to go so you need to give it time. Some people don't wash it off.

EverlastingLove · 17/03/2018 18:07

dab lemon juice on them if you have plenty of time , if you want to get rid quicker ie overnight a tiny tiny pinhead amount/ dab of Preparation H on each individual spot (do not rub in to skin )
