Silver longline bomber jacket - yes or hell no?

DH was charity shopping the other day, spotted a satin silver bomber in my size and sent me a pic. I'm trying to be more adventurous with my clothes having watched a lot of Queer Eye so I said yes please!

He failed to mention though that it's longline and it wasn't obvious from the pic. It might be a trendy feature too far for me! I found it here. Obviously it looks a lot better on the model! I am a size 8 but short and generous of thigh so I'm worried it swamps and cuts off at my widest place. Also not sure I would wear it with other than black skinny jeans.

So, S&B gurus - is it a keeper or back to the charity shop?

Reminds me of Bianca Jackson in Eastenders.

Rickyyyyy...

I quite like it. I'd wear it if I was younger. In fact I had a lovely silver bomber back in my 20s.

Mulberrysilk · 14/03/2018 17:18

Hell no.

Whitney168 · 14/03/2018 17:19

Hell no

Viviene · 14/03/2018 17:49

Actually the one in the link is not that bad.

ReversingSnail · 14/03/2018 18:25

It looks too much like a cagoul IMO.

ScreamingValenta · 14/03/2018 18:28

If you can think of at least five occasions you'd wear it (or a single but special occasion) - buy it.

SporkInTheToaster · 14/03/2018 18:29

Nope. Christmas turkey.

Fairylea · 14/03/2018 18:31

Another Bianca “first thought” here. I know they’re very trendy but it’s a no from me.

gastropod · 14/03/2018 18:42

Looks more like a long tracksuit/shellsuit top. I think the fabric looks quite thin and cheap... not a fan, sorry!

ChishandFips33 · 14/03/2018 20:10

Dare you post a picture of you in it?

How much did you pay - if it was cheap it could be worth keeping it to develop the styling of it

HangtheblessedDJ · 14/03/2018 20:31

I like it

SapphireandSteele · 14/03/2018 20:32

Noooooooooooo

BattleaxeGalactica · 14/03/2018 20:40

If it's a chazzer buy it probably wasn't that expensive? But then there's always a reason stuff is there in the first place...

I doubt they'll take it back. Give it a couple of goes and if it really doesn't float your boat flog it on eBay before fashion death hits.

Fraggleface · 14/03/2018 20:54

Probably looks vaguely cool on a 5’10 model but less so on those of us of smaller stature...

christmastreewithhairyfairy · 15/03/2018 08:24

Rickyyyyy... Grin

See now I'm in a quandry because the mn consensus seems to be no but the women at work who are admittedly mostly trendy yoof said yes.

It was only a tenner, and it's not like I can get a refund so I may as well try it out a few times. I can't think of specific occasions (though one of the Very reviewers said she'd got it for a wedding Confused), it's more if over spring I am happy to grab it on the way out of the door. If I always bypass it then it's probably going back...

Dare you post a picture of you in it? Maybe. Though I'm still recovering from an HD brows "experience" so maybe not unless I can blur/cut my face out!

Errrr I love it!

ChishandFips33 · 15/03/2018 19:25

Maybe you could flog it to your yooful colleagues for £11 and make profit!

Take photo neck down over - it's the jacket we wanna see Grin
