What eyeshadow colours will bring out the brown in hazel eyes?

I can find colours to make the green pop but if I want to emphasise the gold/brown I’m a bit stuck. Any suggestions?

At a guess, turquoise.

VioletSnowflake · 14/03/2018 12:41

Green.

VioletSnowflake · 14/03/2018 12:41

Also, navy can be good.

And black eyeliner (if your colouring will take it, I used to but it’s too harsh on my 40something skin now).

VioletteValentia · 14/03/2018 12:44

Black eyeliner is fine, I have naturally black hair and warm skin.

Green/ gold/ purple

VioletteValentia · 14/03/2018 12:45

I find purple makes them look green. I’ll try gold and green!

I use this and have hazel eyes, on top and bottom kids. I love it. www.stories.com/gb/Beauty/Make-up/Eyes_Brows/Eye_Pencil/590651-0148527017.2#dialog

Grin lids, not kids

I had a max factor eyeshadow in the same kind of colour (teal green) as the above eyeliner. It does look nice.

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 14/03/2018 13:02

I always wore purple eyeshadow to enhance my brown eyes so assume it would work for hazel too. Not sure where I read it but have remembered it for 30 years so I hope it’s true Grin

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 14/03/2018 13:04

Technically if you want to down play the green then green eyeshadow should work, as using the opposite colour enhances the other one. However opposite to brown is brown Grin

Charlotte Tilbury does colour chameleon eye pencils that enhance different eye colours.

I have an amethyst one for green eyes.

Golden quartz and smoky emerald are for hazel eyes,

Even if you don't want CT you could look at the colours and find something similar.

I’ve got one of those CT Pencils, just picked it up because I liked it. Will definitely look at what works for what eyes, thanks.

As an aside they are lovely if anyone’s wondering!

I have browny green eyes (more brown then green)

I find a soft greyish purple nice.
MAC do a eyeshadow called Satin Taupe that I use to soften brown eyeliner (i use it over gel eyeliner) and for shading.

Purple sounds awful but it really works.
Pure brown makes my eyes look pinkish

JosephWearsNoPants · 14/03/2018 14:08

usually people want to bring the green in hazel eyes...
try navy or aubergine dark purple

PatchworkWellies · 14/03/2018 14:12

Blue for brown I was told so might work on hazel... Certainly makes my brown eyes 'pop'!

VioletteValentia · 14/03/2018 15:02

Everyone does seem to want to bring out the green! I prefer the golds myself.

Looking on the CT site I think the golds bring out the Hazel better than green also OP - but both do look lovely.

It does make a difference - I've got green/blue eyes and what eye make up I wear does seem to emphasise one colour over the other.

DarthArts · 14/03/2018 15:58

I also like those CT pencils - I've got the black sparkly one as well as the purple one.

Just really foolproof to put on - dab and smudge or more precisely like an eye liner then they set and stay put.
