Don't look if you value your eyesight: ugly danger

"Just why?" applies to every single pair of shoes on this page IMHO.

Do people buy stuff that is so ugly?

I think they are all hideous.
But then I like glitzy spangly shoes:

AnoiaUnstickMyDrawers · 13/03/2018 10:58

I have the Chinese style ones. Thanks.

MrsExpo · 13/03/2018 11:11

I quite like some of them. They look like fun things to wear with jeans. Showed DH the men’s ones and I think he might be ordering a pair ..... Each to their own.

GingerMcGrey · 13/03/2018 11:15

I quite like some of those, they look comfy.

Gilead · 13/03/2018 11:16

Anoia what are the sizes like and did you get them from this site?
Thank you!

Catra · 13/03/2018 11:16

They're ugly in your subjective opinion, fine.

I actually rather like some of them, especially the red floral ones.

And FWIW I'm in my 30s and hardly a hippy.

There are plenty of shoes I think are vile that other people probably love, but each to their own.

lizzlebizzle33 · 13/03/2018 11:17

Oh I quite like a few of them too! Glad it's not just me m.

Hippywannabe · 13/03/2018 11:52

I like most of them!

RatherBeRiding · 13/03/2018 13:00

I like quite a few too - my style is boho/hippy-ish anyway. I cannot abide stilettos. Each to their own!

Haffiana · 13/03/2018 13:43

I think some of them are great!

But then my style is my own and not constrained by rigid ideas of what is "usual" "same-as-everyone-else" or "normal".

elQuintoConyo · 13/03/2018 13:52

If you have wide feet and like leather shoes, what is wrong with them? Not everyone likes or suits Converse or biker boots. Or FUggs, for that matter.

Most of the shoes i see on a daily basis are dull as arseholes.

glitterbiscuits · 13/03/2018 14:05

I’d wear a few of them!

missyB1 · 13/03/2018 14:07

For some reason I can only imagine them being worn by German women Blush

LanguidLobster · 13/03/2018 14:16

I quite like the red ones, sorry OP! Happy, comfortable trotting.

If it makes you feel better I'll put on my 1970s gold Halsdon Studio 54 high heels later and have a strut around.

lizzlebizzle33 · 13/03/2018 14:44

@elQuintoConyo dull as arseholes
😂😂😂

elQuintoConyo · 13/03/2018 14:53

MissyB1 why? Because German women are one homogenous group with this taste in shoes?

Do you know anyone German? Do you think they can't be chic?

Hmm

Twatty comment.

PaperRockMissile · 13/03/2018 15:41

why? Because German women are one homogenous group with this taste in shoes?

MissyB1 didn't say "I can imagine all German women wearing these shoes." She said only imagine those shoes being worn by German women.

ie. some German women would be the only women who would wear these shoes.

And I know exactly what she means! It's hardly worth taking offence at - it's that kind of germanic and austrian style that goes with patchwork and dirndls and those horrid shoes.

OP posts:
OutyMcOutface · 13/03/2018 15:44

I am actually tempted to buy some. They look really comfortable. Weird af though.

MillyChantilly · 13/03/2018 15:53

Kind of shoes I'd expect munchkins to wear on a night out.

NewImprovedNinja · 13/03/2018 16:05

I like them. Does anyone know if they fit wider feet?

wholenewoutlook · 13/03/2018 16:27

They are the equivalent of those crippling irregular choice shoes for people like me who prefer comfort and wear Gudrun-type styles at the weekends.
I would wear most of them, and really not worry about 'catching sight of my own big red feet' given that I'm still wearing brightly coloured crocs in all weathers when not at work.

TeaAddict235 · 13/03/2018 16:29

I quite like them too BlushConfused

Also....I live in Germany Grin

I can see what @missyB1 means though; There is a similar and popular brand in Europe called Naturista or something which do shoes just like these. They are very popular with nursery and school teachers (along with Gudrun's joeden clothes). I think that German-Austrian shoes tend to be comfortable firstly and then stylish secondly. The chiropodist industry is huge out here, and some sell shoes just like on that website.

Derail: Do you remember the phase when everyone in teaching/ academia (or so it felt) wore those Camper's twin shoes? I remember wondering where they got them from, but now i May have joined the club Grin

BerkInBag · 13/03/2018 16:35

Yes they are like Naturista, a brand I do like to wear.

Strugglingtodomybest · 13/03/2018 16:51

I've got naturista boots on now, they are soooooo comfortable.

I like the look of most of those shoes, but I don't wear shoes, they're generally too uncomfortable for my liking.
