Looking for ideas for work clothes ... work in smart, professional office

Used to be a marks fan for price and simplicity with some uniqlo but it’s all dowdy, rather than classic now

I still love uniqlo, and J Crew for work. Both two excellent skirts and blazers. I also like Hobbs for dresses.

Reiss & zara sometimes h & m

M&S is dire at the moment.

I would take a look at Boden, Mango (for jackets) and although I haven't shopped there personally, Massimo Dutti seem to have classy work clothes.

I've also picked up a few dresses at Phase Eight - they wash well.

Yes I still like uniqlo - but there isn’t usually a huge range

I have some Boden (plain dresses, winter skirts, some knitwear) , Hobbs, bits from M&S. Warehouse sometimes for dresses - cheap, quality not great but look decent & for a season. Joules. I have had Jigsaw in past & it has lasted years.

Also worth checking Sainsbury's if you're after quite an 'office' look?

CountFosco · 11/03/2018 20:58

COS. That is all I have to say on the subject. Website an aquired taste and as a short hourglass I have to pick the apparently simplest clothes from there but quality top notch. Some Huah clothes might be suitable, gorgeous flat shoes from Rogue Matilda that are work appropriate.

I've not bought from any of these (too many synthetics for the price) but have heard the following praised: Finery, meandem, Baukjen.

LtGreggs · 12/03/2018 19:15

CountFosco I just went to look at the Cos website. Maybe it's better in real life, but all the models seem to be wearing pastel sacks? And looking fed up & helpless about it.

I don't get it Grin

Hobbs outlet for jackets. I also have an excellent plain black jacket from the Boden sale.

Plain jersey dresses - Boden, Bravissimo

Trousers - Gap bi-stretch

John Lewis for plain 'smart' jersey tops

Boden Ravello tops are good with a jacket
