I was persuaded to buy this today by my daughters who raved over it. It would be for a Spring (end of April) small indoor hotel wedding. I would never normally wear a maxi dress to a wedding (or at all actually) as I would feel attention seeking, or anything predominantly black, but they said with bright accessories it would be lovely. I am small and a size 16/18 and my style is quite ageing hippy ! I have piercings and a few tattoos.

I like that, and think it’s perfect for a wedding. What shoes are you thinking about?

RickOShay · 10/03/2018 19:57

But according to dd my style is also
aging hippy, so I could just be colluding with you Grin

Creatureofthenight · 10/03/2018 20:02

It’s really nice and I think it’s ideal for a wedding.

Growuphelen · 10/03/2018 20:24

Oh I thought it would be shot down for being black/casual/long !
I have no clue for shoes, bag, hair thing. And would love suggestions. Yellow ? Orange ? Blue ??

It's lovely. Will you wear shoes or ankle boots? What do your DDs think?

Hippadippadation · 10/03/2018 20:38

I like it for a small hotel wedding. Go for it OP. I think your style would let you go bright on the accessories. Pick out your favourite colour from the dress. I would go blue personally.

Pob13 · 10/03/2018 20:38

Pick out one of the colours (whichever suits you best) and try and get accessories to match. A nice cardi and handbag and jewellery even shoes but black shoes would look nice. I think sandles would be nice.

Growuphelen · 10/03/2018 20:45

My DDs think burnt orange bag and hair clip thing with tan shoes. I have shoulder length wavy dark brown hair, and brown eyes so I think I suit orange.

Love that dress! Nicest thing I’ve seen in a while. Your daughters have excellent taste!

Growuphelen · 10/03/2018 21:12

I'll tell them ! I would have honestly never picked it myself. I was muttering all the way to the fitting room - I don't wear long dresses, I'm too small and fat, it's too casual, you can't wear black for a wedding...

I think your dds are spot on. Hope you have fun.

pimlicolife · 10/03/2018 22:07

I like it

Starryskiesinthesky · 10/03/2018 22:49

Lovely dress.

Lifeaback · 10/03/2018 22:53

I love it! Your DD's are spot on, they have excellent taste. If you have your ears pierced, I think an orange pair of those pat butcher/curtain accessory/tassley style earrings that are really in at the minute would compliment it perfectly. I'm not sure if Ive described that well, I'll try and find a pic

I've bought a yellow and orange feather hair clip from Etsy. I may well look like an exotic bird but i like it. The clasp is vintage style silver so I will keep my jewellry silver and toned down. But I still fancy some orange shoes !

Chocolateteabag · 11/03/2018 19:38

Oh yes OP - definitely orange strappy shoes - not black - to lift it. With colourful accessories - maybe a lighter orange shawl or stole instead of a cardigan? - it will look fabulous for a wedding.

Far better than something matronly!

MaryLennoxsScowl · 11/03/2018 20:07

That’s gorgeous! I wish I had a reason to buy it too.

Teacakequeen · 11/03/2018 20:12

I really like it, I quite fancy it for myself.
