Posh party next Saturday - Prepping tips?

Have been invited to what my friend described as a 'small get together' to celebrate her name day next Saturday (really not an excuse for a St Patrick's Day piss up, friend is a practising Roman Catholic so this sort of thing matters to her).

Turns out it's in fact a black tie do for thirty people I've for the most part never met. I'd like to look like me, only better. How do I go about it? I've already booked a trim and blow dry on the day, so hair is sorted. Skin could be better, tbh, but not much that can be done in a week. Cannot decide whether to go for a dress or trousers, though the latter is probably the more sensible option as the place is 45-minutes away each way and I'll be driving.

I'm 32 and a size 12-14. Any quick fix princessing tips you care to fire my way?

File nails and paint.
Have a facial - I do diy version with twice cleansing and a mud pack.
