What would you wear for a christening?

I want to buy something new for a spring christening. I don’t want anything too formal and would like something I could wear again. I’m usual a jeans biker and converse person so this is smarter than I’m used to! I guess I’ll need to buy shoes too? Any ideas?

I go less formal than a wedding, more like a posh meal out type of outfit. I wore a floral one shoulder maxi dress to DD1's April christening and a Lindy Bop 50s dress to DD2's September christening.

For friend's kids I've worn skater / shift type dresses on the casual side with a cardi and court shoes.

I wore a pleated dress from East to my grandson 's christening, some were dressed very smartly, others in jeans and t-shirts.
