Favourite cosmetics from Chanel?

I have a makeover booked at Chanel and was wondering what items might be good to try and test while I am there? What favourites do people love?
I am 36 with oily skin so tend to go for long wearing products where possible.

Hi, :) I use chanel. Lumiere velvet foundation is good. The cream eyeshadows. The powder is very fine. The products last between 4 and 6 months for me. I would like to get the blanc base next (can't remember what its called now)

Arealhumanbeing · 10/03/2018 13:03

Le Volume mascara. It’s so lovely.

Idontbelieveinthemoon · 10/03/2018 13:06

Le Blanc and Les Beiges are great (primer and foundation, great worn together but also Le Blanc is lovely alone for just giving a glow).

The eye quads are lovely, too, but I have oily lids so always use a primer. And the Rouge Coco lipstick is great.

Madbengalmum · 10/03/2018 15:24

Eyeshadow quads are brilliant and long lasting.

ggirl · 10/03/2018 15:26

CC cream

silkpyjamasallday · 10/03/2018 15:30

I have the les beiges eyeshadow palette, it's lovely subtle colours that are long wearing and you can build up layers to make a soft neutral smokey eye effect very easily.

AnaViaSalamanca · 10/03/2018 16:52

vitalumiere aqua foundation, lipsticks, eye pencils

Bugjune · 10/03/2018 16:57

Le Volume mascara. It’s so lovely.

Agreed! I don't rate a lot of Chanel make up but that mascara is incredibly good.

Arealhumanbeing · 10/03/2018 17:01

Bugjune

Yeah. Its just so, sooty! Gets right to the roots of the lashes too.

heateallthebuns · 10/03/2018 17:05

Cc cream - great coverage, has spf, but light

ALittleLemonTwist · 10/03/2018 17:38

Cc cream and blusher.

weetabix07 · 10/03/2018 17:55

but avoid the nail polish!

ArieltheMermaid1720 · 10/03/2018 17:58

They also a lovely cream bronzer.

WellTidy · 10/03/2018 18:02

Are any of the Chanel mascaras tubing mascaras please?

ggirl · 10/03/2018 19:47

I really really want the les beiges eye palette now..

violetbunny · 10/03/2018 21:43

Thanks for all the suggestions, I have made a list of things I want to try. Love the look of the Les Beiges eyeshadow palette especially!

WellTidy

Le Volume isn’t. It lasts well though. Chanel tend to take years and years to catch up with that side of things.

The nail varnishes are fab if you go for the new long wear formula. Again, a fairly recent development.

eloisesparkle · 11/03/2018 08:27

The Chanel Volume mascara is brilliant for, eh, Volume.
I also use their cream bronzer but Boots 17 do a great dupe as does W7.

eloisesparkle · 11/03/2018 08:28

Chanel make up and Bourjois make up are from the same company

WellTidy · 11/03/2018 09:11

Thanks Areal. I need a tubing mascara! After discovering them, I won't go back.

WipsGlitter · 11/03/2018 09:31

I hate my Chanel mascara. Hate the brush (own fault - should have checked it). And it takes ages to dry and is hard to get off.

eloisesparkle · 11/03/2018 09:49

I hate all the teeny tiny specks of mascara you get when removing tubing mascara.
They go everywhere Smile

WrenDouglas · 11/03/2018 10:49

Lipstick! I bought red lipstick after a Chanel makeover (one of the Rouge Allure ones - the shade is Pirate) and I love it so much.

Otherwise I like their moisturisers (pricey though)

Ididnthearanything · 11/03/2018 11:15

I have oily skin too. The Lumiere Velvet is really good. I like Aqua one I really like for summer but it does slide off my face a wee bit. CC cream is v nice but it’s better suited to dryer skins I think.
The rest I don’t honestly see much of a difference with other brands apart from the slick packaging.

phoolani · 11/03/2018 12:29

I love the healthy glow sheer colour blush; can’t imagine it would form part of a make over though, it’s too ‘casual’ but it is lovely to perk up the complexion in 5 seconds.
