Shoe disaster - designer repairs

Hello, has anyone had any experience of expensive shoe repairs?

I caught the heel on my Jimmy Choo shoes tonight Sad

Anyone know of a reputable place I can send them to be fixed?

I've taken shoes back to Jimmy Choo for repair before. Haven't done it for years though so don't know if it's still possible.

Thanks for the quick response.

I'm not near a JC retailer/shop hence asking for advice but if needs must I'll have to send back.

There's another scuff on the other side of the heel (slid between pavement cracks) so it's a bit worse than it seems on the photo.

Thanks again.

What part of the country are you in?

As the shoes are patent, it may be worth having the heels recovered rather than a repair?

The heel isn't leather, it's painted - metal base. The toe is suede.

DH is suggesting I buy some car paint 😱

I've used nail vanish on patent leather heels as an economical, easy fix. Unfortunately pavements and heels aren't a great combination so I've resorted to this on a number of times.
I'm a massive shoe lover and have over 200 pairs; the majority being designer. However you have to remember that no one looks that carefully at the leather condition on your heels!!!

Tx - just read that to DH and he's happy he wasn't far off with the car paint!

Just a bit miffed with myself tonight.

Thanks for the suggestions to those who posted.

You need Classic Shoe Repairs on the Brecknock Road in London- many designer brands send shoes here for repair. They did a great job on some parent Salvatore Ferragamo shoes where I’d scraped leather off the heel. I’ll see if I can find the website. I’ve also used a specialist Christian Louboutin cobbler in Clerkenwell just behind the Barbican but they’ll only repair CL shoes.

opinionatedfreak · 10/03/2018 19:15

you need a good cobbler.

I'm assuming you are out of London if you don't have a local Jimmy Choo retailer?

LilaBlue · 10/03/2018 19:48

You can barely see it. Get some nail polish in the same colour and dan it on.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions - much appreciated.

I don't live in London but travel there a lot for business meetings, so I'm in a position to be able to take them if I need to.
