Good quality cotton tops - best for tall/long torso?

I'm gradually building up my wardrobe again after losing a lot of weight and would like some really good quality cotton tops (preferably 3/4 sleeve but that's flexible). My main issues are that I'm tall with disproportionately short legs and a long torso, I also still have a wobbly tummy after having a baby 3 years ago and losing weight so would like something that comes to my lower hip at least. I've seen many recommend boden /fat face but they look like they would be too short. Any suggestions?

I'm tall and long waisted and yes Boden ones are too short!

I often wear long vests as a layer under my tops - Hush do really nice quality longline vests, I also have them by Saint Tropez, Superdry and All Saints.

For long tops, New Look do them, also H&M, and Hema (look online). Not sure about 3/4 length sleeves but it would be easy to cut them off and re-hem.

I'm long bodied too - Baukjen good for me - they have longer tops that you kind of ruche (in a stylish way, if possible) up a bit.

Is bamboo ok? I find it more robust than cotton tbh, and I've managed to keep my white tops white whereas cotton always seems to go dingy despite my best efforts.
Bam do nice long tops and vest tops. I do wish there was more of a selection of colours. bambooclothing.co.uk/category/womens-long-sleeved-bamboo-tops/

Thank you for the suggestions. I have done the whole vest under tops thing before and don't like it as I get too hot, will have a look at the shops suggested though thank you.

I just got some lovely new tshirts from Rapanui that are a gray length in the body.

www.baukjen.com/uk/m do lovely tops that should fit your criteria

outlet

What size do you wear? This sounds crazy but Mango's curve range (Violeta) starts at size 12. Just last week I had 6 or 7 cotton and linen tops delivered from the outlet and the fit and length are great.

Squ1ggle · 09/03/2018 20:52

Thanks everyone. Some of the baukjen stuff looks lovely but a bit out of budget.

Bejazzled I'm a 12 currently. Is the mango stuff small or generous sizing would you say?

The tops are pretty true to size. My lovely friend is a tall 12 but says being a 'mum curvy 12' is different from a pre family 12 iykwim. She has bought their bodycon office dresses in a 14 as they are so fitted, but normal cut size 12 tops and tshirts are perfect on her. Their size guide is very accurate.

I'm a 16 hence why she is advising you through me Grin

Bejazzled · 09/03/2018 21:40

p.s. normal high street Mango comes up very small, it's Violeta that is curvy.

Some John Lewis stores carry it if you wanted to do a try on.

Hope you get something Smile

Gap tall range?

AnnaNimmity · 10/03/2018 06:30

OP there's usually a 15 or 20% code for Baukjen which takes the price down a bit. Try WELCOME218 for 20% off.

FittyPheasant · 10/03/2018 07:18

I have never paid full price for a Baukjen item but it takes up nearly 50% of my wardrobe. They have great sales and the clothes last for years if you follow the care instructions ( basically don’t tumble dry)

WanderlustHenpeck · 10/03/2018 07:20

I find the m&s stuff is longer in the body than most high Street stuff :)

Zampa · 10/03/2018 07:23

Gap tops may be worth a try?

TheKitchenWitch · 10/03/2018 07:23

H&M is very hit and miss - their tops are often long enough for me until I wash them and then they shrink to a ridiculous size! Their basic range (can't remember what it's called) doesn't do that, but lots of the other stuff does.

Squ1ggle · 10/03/2018 13:28

Thanks everyone, I've ordered a selection from the tall range at Gap, will see how they feel when they arrive

Uniqlo very good. This is a bit of a holy grail thing for me so I was very excited to find them.
