Tortoise shell or black frames for spectacles?

I need to order new glasses today.
Strong prescription so need full rimmed.

I'm dark haired and pale - olive skin toned with hazel eyes.

Should I go tortoise shell this time or stick to black?

Hard to tell without pics.
You have the same colouring as me though. I have tortoiseshell ones. Never black. Far too heavy on me at least.

Thank you, I just looked in the mirror and he Black is quite harsh on my face

(Previous teen goth so used to picking black for everything! )

DP has same colouring and he has tortoishell and they suit him.
I think il give them a try 👍🏻

I have same colouring as Kate Middleton...

I'm just shorter and fatter, with worse hair (although less wrinkles Wink)

Its always nice to have a change anyway rather than the same. Can you not try a few? I am sure that Glasses direct let you try before you buy.

I'm brown hair / hazel eyes/Celtic skin
Just ordered some tortoiseshell framed glasses myself , black was way too dark on me

Sounds just like my colouring, I’ve got the Kylie 02 glasses, they are a greyish tortoise shell for a change from brown , I really like them.

I'm the same. I went for a grey-black tortoiseshell type. Black are too harsh for me but tortoiseshell can be too reddish.

Black on the outside, tortoiseshell on the inner edges works for me (pale skinned blonde)
