My least favourite shopping expedition. Sad
I am currently using LM Candleglow in Shell which is ok but not wow.
Im 58 with good skin...oily nose.
Also pale..I think shell is slightly too dark.
Looking for a dewy finish, not matt. I dont like Chantecaille or Hourglass.

Big I love your hair and lipstick. Skin is fab too I’ll have to try out that sheer glow.

I like Shiseido Syncro Glow, but not sure I can recommend getting it because it's been such a hassle to find a counter to get matched and actually buy it, that I'm not sure it's worth it.

So, to sum up, foundation good, service bad.

Just bought MAC face and body after reading this as my LM tinted moisturiser is too dark colourwise for winter.
It's a revelation...amazing stuff.

Clinique even better glow, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Big that looks great on you . Why does nars sheer glow get such mixed reviews ?
The luminous silk seems unanimously approved as do Chanel vitalumiere double wear nude and an keen to try them !
I use Lancôme bare skin miracle and it's absolutely amazing - glides on my dry skin effortlessly and has a beautiful glow

I am 51 and on the same quest. I am ditching my CHanel Vitalumiere as it just doesn’t sit right on my skin. I tried Bourjois City Radiance at the weekend and was really impressed. Looked really good in the best ( strongest natural) light once I got home. Blends in really well and has that fresh, dewy effect. I also applied LM candle glow on the other side of my face ( ever the scientist) and though it was good I thought the Bourjois was better.

Armani luminous silk. 100%

lauryloo · 14/03/2018 22:59

Another vote for sheer glow

I also am a fan of the tarte gel hybrid foundation, which I believe has been rebranded as the shape tape hydrating foundation

I find the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation a good dewy one. The city radiance is matter (I think?) I didn’t get on with that one. Mac face and body was very sweaty looking on me, might try it again some time. I’m pissed off with my Chanel vitalumiere, it’s just a bit meh. Ditto my Ordinary serum foundation. Meh. What does anyone think of Clinique superbalanced? That used to be great on me (when I was much younger though...)

I want to get the Nars based on BigStripey’s picture. I have a drawer full, I need to stop.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 15/03/2018 05:42

On the basis of this and other foundation threads I ordered samples from ebay and even though the marketing irritates the bejaysus, the Charlotte Tilbury Magic is lovely.

I have (also a drawer full) a Bourjois health mix somewhere, nice but lightest shade too dark for me unless it's high summer.

Just thought id share my latest foray to the beauty counters. Tried Nars lightest foundation- looked horrid, thivk, Camry, seems to break up into little sediments in my face, very yellowy and totally conspicuous. So the assistant scrubbed that and applied the. Tinted moisturiser which looked nearly equally bad. But weirdly after being on my face a couple of hours it calmed down and looked nearly OK. Then off to the LM counter for Candleglow. Didn’t look that great, not the natural look I was after. Like my own skin only more even is what I’m looking for. The assistant was a stylish young French woman and when I asked her what’s she had on she said she does not use foundation, only concealer where it’s needed, powder and bronzer. Made me think! No face left to apply stuff on. I’ll be lookin at concealer next time.
