backless top

I have a gorgeous white backless top with long sleeves, would I be ruining it by wearing another top underneath it?
I don't really want to show my back plus it's freezing cold but I have a skin tight too I can wear underneath. I think it looks ok but does it completely negate the point of the top?

I’d wear it with something really bright that you’d want to be seen

That's a good idea with the bright colour I will try that.
