Beauty Boxes - are they any good - which is best

Does anyone have experience of beauty boxes?

Looking for a present for someone and can't figure out what's best - birch box? GlossyBox? Are there any others?

Advice really appreciated

I love them! You're talking to an addict here, however.

Do you want makeup or skincare? Price?
There are loads around. A lot of people seem to like Cohorted, which I've never tried, it's £35 per month. Glossy and Birchbox are just over £10 a month including postage. I get look fantastic which is really good, similar price. You can google reviews of each month's box.

I was thinking of approx £10-£15 and a 6 month subscription. I have looked at Birch and Glossy and can't figure out which is best..... both make up and skin care or either would be good. I'd like it to feel like a treat and offer value (I know that's unlikely!)

She is young and glamorous but can't get to the shops for a while due to very debilitating illness so I want it to be a treat she can look forward to and enjoy

Thanks for your reply :)

That's sweet of you - if she's quite young maybe Glossy would be best as it's more make-up focussed. Just make sure you get a discount for a first time subscriber!

They're really well packaged and a nice treat, hope her health improves and she enjoys it :)

You could also look at gifting a Beauty Pie subscription? It's £10 a month for a membership to get the products at the massively reduced prices. Depends if she would have the funds to buy anything herself, but if she did, their products are amazing. I'm addicted. And membership prices are very low. Worth factoring in that on top of the product prices you also pay a shipping/packaging charge which is not excessive, but worth being aware of if you are thinking about whether she would have the money to be able to purchase a few things every month.

Gosh I have really confused myself now - there are so many! Shock

It isn't a subscription so not ideal for you OP but having tried Glossy Box and Birchbox (some brilliant boxes, some so so but always something I looked forward to receiving/opening) I can wholeheartedly recommend Tili boxes from QVC. They're not a subscription thing and only come out 3-4 times a year (£20) but I think they're brill. I only mention it for others considering a beauty box subscription.

thanks again - I'll have a look

Does anyone have a code for discounts on any of these? I am going to have to get my calculator out to compare all the costs

The Tili boxes look fantastic but I am forgetful and wouldn't remember to check regularly to see when they were on sale! I want one for myself Grin
