routineplease · 06/03/2018 20:35

do you shave your legs/wash your hair/have a facial/pedicure......e.t.c

I'm trying to make myself feel better about my appearance and I'm beginning to set some new habits that I hope stick.
So far I've started a new face regime of cleanse/tone & moisturize every day.
Just wondering what you glamorous MNers include in your beauty regime & how often you do it?

Shower daily, sometimes twice during time of the month
Wash hair daily
Nails at home two or three times a week
Feet scrubbed/filed and toenails painted once a week
Hair cut every six weeks
Legs shaved once a week in the winter, daily in summer if they’re exposed - I am an actual monkey, though
Eyebrows threaded once a fortnight, tinted at home every month or so, lashes too
Don’t have any salon treatments other than hair

dontcallmethatyoucunt · 06/03/2018 21:41

Fucking hell, where the hell do you find the time? feeling very under polished

Maraki · 06/03/2018 22:21

Shower daily.
Cleanse, tone, massage with oil and night cream every evening.
Hair washed and professionally blow dried weekly (very dry so never gets greasy).
Hair coloured every 5 weeks (at home).
Manicure weekly at home (home gel kit).
Pedicure fortnightly (at home).
Eyebrows threaded every 6 weeks.
Legs shaved monthly (very little hair left after laser).

Hair, nails, eyebrows go into my calendar so I can plan and schedule the time that I need as necessary and don’t fall behind in my routine.

CountFosco · 06/03/2018 23:48

Shave my legs once every couple of weeks in summer and then just the once (Christmas) between September and May. Don't remove hair from anywhere else. I shower after my morning swim and wash my hair then. I've got a short pixie so it's no hardship to wash it every day. Last had a facial and pedicure about a decade ago maybe? Cut my nails once a week. I'm very low maintenance.

PaperdollCartoon · 07/03/2018 08:43

Shower or have a bath - pretty much every day. A really lazy weekend day when I’m going nowhere I might not.

Shave armpits, every other day. Legs, a couple of times a week but I don’t actually need too (hair is fairly fine and fair) so it’s more a quick once over, I don’t need to be neat. I shave/tidy pubic region as well once a week/fortnight. I keep it very short and shaved underneath, but it’s less for the visual I just find I’m more comfortable that way.

Wash hair - most days. But I try not to blow dry it every day. My hair is of the naturally straight, not very thin or thick variety that doesn’t need much doing to it. After more than a decade of regular dying I’m trying to leave it the hell alone more!

Cutting - not often for the reason above. I’m growing it/conservatively trimming as needed. Maybe a few times a year, no regular pattern. Low maintenance hair.

Mani/Pedi - never. But because I’m a bad nail biter. I try and paint them with the Sally Hansen gold grow stuff and I’m getting better.

Wash face usually in the shower, always cleanse and moisturise twice a day as a minimum, and usually a few more products - mostly The Ordinary and Superdrug. Always take all make up off properly at night. I am lucky to have good skin to work with (genetics) but look after it as well.

PaperdollCartoon · 07/03/2018 08:43

Oh I get eyebrows threaded every few weeks as well

routineplease · 07/03/2018 09:56

Thats a good template to go from so thanks all!
Baby number 3 has zapped more of my time so I'm feeling like I'm not as groomed as I would like to be!
I still shower every day but my hair washing is only once a week now. I'm lucky in that I have curly hair so it doesn't get greasy quick but still I don't feel as nice because of it.
My grey roots aren't so easy to stay on top of now either! Along with my upper lip, stray eyebrow hairs & bikini line!
Think my age is catching up with me too Confused

Shower daily
Hair washed every other day
Every Friday night, bath, face mask, deep conditioning hair treatment, pedi, mani, hair removal, gradual tan.
Every Tuesday night, I do a body scrub and a face mask and lots of body moisturiser.
I also do my eyebrows and any stray facial hair
Hair cut every 10 weeks

routineplease · 07/03/2018 14:40

@onlyonaTuesday do you find that you end up with a decent colour doing your gradual tan once a week?

Fairydust17 · 07/03/2018 14:47

Wow this makes he look so bad, I don’t have the time to think about me I normally shower daily if I can. always cleanse skin and moisturise daily..... hair umm well normally once a week as I have very thick course hair that never gets greasy quite a blessing really can’t be bothered with all of that

RedPandaMama · 07/03/2018 14:54

Wash my hair anything from every other day to once a week - it goes through periods of being really dry or a bit greasy so depends on that.

Haircut - literally never. I trim my own sometimes. Have never had it cut professionally and liked it and it's always cost me more than I can afford. Used to dye it a lot from home but have left it natural for 2 years now.

Shave legs - used to be a couple of times a week or whenever I'm planning on not wearing tights but since I had DD the hair doesn't really seem to grow, it's very blonde and fine and I just can't be bothered so it's about every 6 months at the moment Blush. Armpits whenever it grows, probably once a week.

Paint my nails when I feel like it, had them nice and glittery for Christmas but not since then. No tans or anything.

Pluck my eyebrows about once a month.

I do wear makeup whenever I go out though - I really enjoy putting it and it gives me way more confidence.

I really need to up my self care routine but I just never find time with the baby!

SnowiestMountain · 07/03/2018 14:57

Legs: between two days and four months, depending on when I want to.
Hair: every two days
Facial: every two days
Pedicure: roughly every two weeks but sooner of it doesn’t last that long (usually it will though).

OutyMcOutface · 07/03/2018 15:37

All at home obviously.

onlyonaTuesday · 07/03/2018 15:55

@routineplease it just makes me less ghost like

SmiledWithTheRisingSum · 07/03/2018 16:08

What gradual tan do you use?

onlyonaTuesday · 07/03/2018 16:32

@SmiledWithTheRisingSum if I'm feeling flush then I use This Works, Gradual leg tan but it's about £40... normally though I just use the L'Oréal one in the tube.

Jemimapuddleduk · 07/03/2018 16:32

Shower daily (sometimes twice if I’ve been to the gym), bath weekly
Shave underarms every day and legs/bikini weekly
Cleanse, serum and moisturise twice a day
My nails are a nightmare though. Mani- never, pedi before a holiday and eyebrows too
Hair cut and highlighted every 8 weeks
Make up every day

MrsPear · 07/03/2018 18:34

God I wish I could shave my legs weekly - I’m such a gorilla!

Hair removal is my only real regular thing except daily face cream.

Judydreamsofhorses · 07/03/2018 19:04

mrspear I live in Scotland so my legs are covered in 100 denier opaques for about ten months of the year. If my legs are exposed I could shave twice daily and still be stubbly in between. I feel your pain.
