Got a big party coming up with a Black Tie / Cocktail dress code.
I have rubbish legs and am carrying a bit of baby wight still (12 years on 
) and generally feel like quite self conscious in short dresses.
I think a full length dress would be too formal for the event so I was wondering if I could get away with black trousers, with maybe a strapless bustier thing - or some other eveningy top, black jacket and sparkly bag / shoes. A few bits of statement jewellery and hair all done up. Would that fit the bill?
