Help- I have big feet. Size 9s that are now 9.5 post pregnancies...
I usually wear Converse but now I'm going back to work and need something a bit smarter...I don't wear high heels and I work in a media agency so I can get away with trainers some days, but I'd really like to try something a bit smarter!
Thank you for any recommendations!

I am a size 9 & this has been a constant pain for me to find shoes that don't have huge heels (6 foot already!) and are nice! Evans is great they go up to an 11 & varying widths too, though trying to find an actual store is getting harder as they seem to be closing all over but online you have more choice. Hope you find some!

DM is an oz 10, so 9 here, and was delighted to find M&S fitted well. She bought a whole heap last time she was over.

M&S don’t go bigger than an 8 anymore. Sad

If looking for cheap: New Look 9s fit very well and last a surprisingly long time.

Primark do 9s which are really 8s and fit poorly.

Clarks is best for smart size 8 shoes which fit comfortably.

Watch out for shops which brand size 8 (42) shoes as size 9 (43).

*Clarks for size 9, not size 8 :p

Oh no, I've just been to Holland, didn't occur to me to look at shoes.
Clarks annoy me, I've always been an 8 with them, my feet have actually slimmed down after a big weight loss, my old 8s still fit. But new 8s are too narrow, I'm sure their sizing has altered. Wide 8s seem to only be in frumpy styles...meh

The good thing about frumpy styles is you don't have to surgically remove a big (and painful) bunion when you are in your fifties...

Interesting lead about Holland... here's a webshop I just found by Google; Passo - the shoes under 'sale' doesn't look too frumpy to me and they have Gabor shoes. But I already have more shoes than I can safely fit into my closet, so I don't really need any more shoes at this point.

The shrinking of shoe sizes makes me so cross. I am a 42 or probably 42.5, or used to be an 8 or 8.5 in uk sizing. I ordered a pair of "size 8" boots last week which on arrival were labelled 41 and I couldn't even get my foot in. So depressing. I returned them immediately while still in the shop and was asked if I wanted to order a bigger size Confused If only! My feet are not off the scale large yet most shoe shops are useless to me because their 8=41=nowhere near big enough.

The only comfort is that if I had dainty little size 5s I would probably spend a fortune on shoes, but it's just not possible!

Someone upthread asked about After8 shoes. I haven't ordered from them but they used to have a couple of shops, one of which was near me. Perversely the problem there was most shoes were too big, even the 8.5s!
