Fascinators....

What do you think of them? I'm on the fence. I haven't worn one for years to a wedding but I am attending a wedding soon and it seems many people will be and I feel I might not be "done" without one. Is there anything else I maybe haven't thought of that I could try instead? Nobody is wearing a hat to it.

I think they are silly outdated and naff, personally.

Wear a hat or don't - either is preferable.

Naff. Sorry. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone look good wearing one.

No!
If your wedding is a formal church one, please wear a hat.
If it is anywhere else there is no need for headgear.
i have never ever seen anyone looking good in a fascinator.

I have one that I originally bought for a fancy dress outfit, I've worn it to 2 weddings to dress up a pretty plain outfit and have had compliments at both.

However, at every wedding I've been to in recent years (surprisingly a lot!) a handful of people have worn a fascinator/hat, everyone else has gone bare headed. They are not compulsory, if you don't want to wear one, don't. Even if others are.

Thanks you've basically confirmed my feelings on them. It's because everyone else I have spoken to seems to be wearing one I felt like maybe I should but I really just feel like they are so dated.

I think they had their moment, but have now passed. It's hats or nothing for me now (even though I have a couple of lovely fascinators that looked great at the time)

I love hats and will wear one at the drop of a hat! Fascinators not so much., although they are better for indoors (not churches).
