Can anyone help me find a wedding dress like this?

I've been trying to contact a dress maker who makes this type of dress on and off for the last year and have had not much luck so as my wedding is now his year I am giving up and trying to find an alternative but haven't had much luck yet.

Can anyone help me find a dress like this?

I don't mind preowned or samples as I don't have a huge budget.

Il a size 12/14

I had a house of mooshki as well, amazing quality and detailing. You could probably find a used one with budget.

tellitlikeitispls · 02/03/2018 11:52

www.ohsewvintage.co.uk/ based in Hertfordshire

OhHolyFuck · 02/03/2018 11:57

There's one house of mooski dress in your size and budget on eBay right now

Alabasterangel6 · 02/03/2018 12:02

A bit above the budget but this is similar and lovely - and a friend had her dress from this place and the service was very very good. www.wed2b.co.uk/arlington

@tellitlikeitispls that company looks fantastic! I will contact her to see where she is in Herts and see what's she can do

@Alabasterangel6 I saw that dress earlier and loved everything about it and then I saw the rear and realised I wouldn't be able to wear a bra Shock

@poster springmachine I've never bought anything from her but I've watched her progress over the last few years and she makes some lovely stuff, including bridal.

springmachine · 02/03/2018 12:21

@OhHolyFuck that house of mooshki on eBay looks amazing on the model! Just how I'd love to picture myself on the day, alas I do not have her size.
It's great to see it on a real person as I'm not too sure now it would suit me as it looks so much more 'poofy' on a size 14 which would be similar to me

(Not actually sure what size I'd be exactly, my waist measurement fluctuates between 31 and 32, but hoping to lose an inch or two by the wedding (baby weight)

@OhSoTotallyLost that's fantastic to hear a positive review for chichi

MagicFajita · 02/03/2018 12:38

Chichi have free returns op. You've got nothing to lose by trying the dress onSmile

springmachine · 02/03/2018 12:43

I just spotted this chi chi dress in gorgeous colour.

Once again it has no back.

What can I do about a bra if I ended up with a style like this or should I just avoid it?

Try Kitty and Dulcie - www.kittyanddulcie.com

I bought mine (Heaven's to Betsey) 5 years ago from Courtesan Boutique (online) but went to the Velvet Birdcage shop to try on and order. But I'm not sure if they are still up and running.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 02/03/2018 13:04

I wore a Chi Chi dress to a wedding recently and it got a lot of wows which was nice. I was amazed at the quality for the price (not least because it gave me a waist!). They would definitely be an option.

Buxbaum · 02/03/2018 18:43

Yes to Candy Anthony. The new ones might be a bit over budget but you could try eBay.

eyestightshut · 02/03/2018 18:53

www.frockshop.co. This place makes gorgeous dresses

SilverHairedCat · 02/03/2018 19:21

Have you seen Wed2B? www.wed2b.co.uk/wedding-dresses/short

Don't forget you could buy a simple or plain strapless frock and buy a separate lace overlay for the upper.

Dig for Victory

NinaNoSleep · 02/03/2018 21:05

OhHoly the House of Mooshki dress looks gorgeous, so classy. Surely this would be much more special than a £40.00 Chi Chi dress. You are the bride after all!

MagicFajita · 02/03/2018 21:05

Just so you know op , dig for victory will do you a made to measure dress in any fabric they stock.

They made my wedding dress.

thefirstmrsdewinter · 02/03/2018 23:15

Lady V London do a small range of bridal styles: www.ladyvlondon.com/search/?q=wedding

They're a bit basic but you could have a seamstress add lace sleeves, wear a petticoat etc. Everything I've had from there has been nice quality for that price point and it's all made in the UK.

hotelduvin · 06/03/2018 16:59

I used jj's house (first responder linked them) for my bridesmaids and all dresses were beautifully made and custom fit too.

dontcallmelen · 06/03/2018 17:04

Hi Candyanthony are beautiful, could have a look on eBay & preloved they usually have some listed.
