Adult braces

Just looking for peoples experiences of adult braces. I had some 6 month smile braces fitted yesterday and they are really uncomfortable and annoying. Plus I have a biteguard so can't chew any food - fed up of soup already!

I have to wear them for at least 7 months and I know I'll get used to them eventually, well at least I hope so! Has anyone had them and if so how long before you got used to them?

TIA

I had them! Was told 7 months or so, came off in 5. Took some getting used to, nearly cried the first day they felt like they were sticking about 12 inches out of my mouth but soon got used got used to them!

Remember them being quite tender after the initial putting on and first tightening and then they were fine. You'll be so pleased with the end result Smile

Thanks Ahagain. It's not so much that they're painful - more uncomfortable and the bite guards are really annoying. I'm starving but will hopefully lose a few pounds Grin

I lost weight with mine, had them on run up to wedding too so that was handy! Grin
