Wedding dress help

A friend is getting married this summer and has been searching in vain for a dress she likes. She’s finally found one that she thinks is flattering (and I think she looks beautiful in it!) but her Mum and other family members don’t think it’s “grand” enough.

She’s happy to keep looking on the proviso that should she not find anything that makes her equally, if not more happy, then she’ll return to the original, but I wondered whether anyone might be able to help find similar styles but that are bit more lavish-looking! Apparently it’s not a particularly modern style (I can’t tell these things so wouldn’t know) so might be trickier to find, though to be fair she’s not especially wedded to a particular style as long as it’s flattering. I’ve attached photos of the dress she loves.

Any help much appreciated Flowers not a bridesmaid bouquet though because that’s my role

I think that looks beautiful. I love the dress. What she thinks is what matters most!
Could always have some crystals or pearls embroidered on?
Have they seen it with a veil and jewellery? That would make it look more glam.
Other ideas though:
https://romanticaofdevon.co.uk/collections/romantica/lucinda this is more ornate and would be very flattering
http://bonny-bridal.co.uk/dress/716-2/ this is similar feel but with beading and shine.
http://www.morilee.co.uk/product/bridal-wedding-dresses/delicate-beading-on-patterned-alencon-lace-on-tulle-with-wide-hemline-border-wedding-dress/ this one is so elegant.
Where's the wedding? Is it formal?

Thanks so much for the links! I particularly love the morilee one but it’s not my wedding so will pass the links on to her

The wedding is in a super fancy hotel and will be pretty formal, which is why her Mum wants a dress to reflect that (I have said that it’s her wedding and she should wear what she loves but she doesn’t mind seeing if there’s anything else out there).

Heidi Elnora does dresses that are a grand version of that one. Also Marchesa, Vera Wang, etc will have grand dresses. However often simplicity is smart! Just add diamonds!

Do you know who the designer is of the dress she likes?

Something like this would look beautiful on her. Still clean lines but much more formal.

I love that dress - your friend looks so pretty and the shape is very flattering on her. I love the neckline and skirt detail.

Personally I’d stick with the dress - she’s leaving it quite late to buy a new dress for a wedding this summer and she’s already chosen a dress that looks beautiful on her.

Given that it's a puffy skirted ballgown shape, I think if that dress were any further embellished or 'grand' it would start to look a bit tacky and OTT.

It's lovely as it is and it really suits her. She obviously understands that less is more and she should tell her family to butt out!
