Budget wedding guest outfit.

I'm going to a wedding in March and still haven't sorted out what I'm going to wear.
It's a very small wedding, no particular dress code but I would like to look suitably smart and fabulous. I have a really small budget, and can't afford to buy a 'wedding outfit' that I won't wear again.
I'm 48, 5'7, size 12 top and hips, size 14 waist and have a tendency to look pregnant!
I have a couple of dresses already that could potentially work, but both are sleeveless, patterned, summer weight fabric. I'm struggling to find something that could go over the top (I'd quite like a comfy cardi Blush ) but obviously that's not going to look very smart. Equally, I don't want to look as though I'm going to a formal interview.
One dress is pinks/oranges, the other green and white.
Any suggestions gratefully received Grin

I'd go to John Lewis and try on phase 8, fenn Wright Mason etc so you know your sizes for those makes and then ebay. If you think you'd be between sizes go big and get it adjusted.
Palaver website and lindy bop have some lovely dresses which are very wearable.

You do wear a wrap nicely. On debenhams site, the Dorothy Perkins black floral wrap dress is down to £13.60 from £30. That with the 3/4 sleeves would look more winter/spring appropriate. If you could stretch to the strawberry jacket mentioned as well, that could be a winner? Then you could have silver/gold/black/pink accessories. The dress would look appropriate for evening too and other occasions.

How about this Hobbs cardigan to go with the green one?

It might be a bit too blue though.

Add balck wrap - sorted! (Buy the 14 as they come up small on top)

That's a lovely dress Green, but black and white are too harsh on me if I wear black it needs to have a good flash of colour with it or I look completely drained.
I love the Hobbs cardigan, def worth a look, thanks Anna.
Lilac I have a feeling I tried on that wrap dress when I was in Debenhams last week, although the one I tried I think had a dropped hem and was longer at the back. If it's the same cut I tried 12,14&16 and all of them flashed my boobs massively!
I think going in again to TK Max and the department stores then eBay is prob the way to go, once the snow melts!
Thanks all Smile

Go with one of the dresses you have. You’ll feel comfortable, you know they suit you and look nice. Nobody remembers what guests wear unless it’s inappropriate.
Get a shrug for arms or little jacket.

Your green dress would look nice with the white Mango jacket that cuckoo linked to. Plus you'd get loads of wear out of it after

Either of the 2 knee length dresses will be more than suitable.

Just pop a cardi, pashmina or jacket over the top.
