Please talk to me about Bobbi Brown

After ten years I think I need to switch from the tinted moisturiser and concealer I've been using because (from what I read on the British Skin Foundation website) it may be contributing to my skin going patchy. Could be hormones, could be perfumes in the cream, could be a combo.

Doesn't have to be BB obviously but I seem to recall hearing it doesn't have scents and that sort of thing. Does it irritate your skin? Does it match well? Does it cover well (full disclosure: I have rosacea)?

I find with any foundation it’s different for each user. However I found the staff great and I’ve had a couple of lessons on their counters, but, the foundation wasn’t a fit for me unfortunately. They also are happy to give samples so you can try over a few days at home. It’s an expensive mistake if it’s not right for you.

I like Bobbi Brown, the shades work for me.

I really like Laura Mercier. I have had some very crappy skin, and I think using the mineral powder has really been a good thing. It has excellent coverage, and is much less obvious and more natural looking than Bare Minerals. I tend to skip around products, but the LM stuff I’m on about my fourth year of using.

I believe BB tests on animals if that makes a difference to you..

V helpful, thanks - perhaps I should just get out there and try then...

Just to clarify - when you say, not a fit, do you mean, wasn't the right shade, or just not good cover/texture or something else?

I found the BB colour I had worked perfectly for me, but it was loaded with silicone so it was a struggle to keep it from sliding off and I think it irritated my eyes. It was a mixed blessing when I finished the tube. Now I use something different (two colours and moisturiser) and have to finesse the colour and texture, which is a pain in the arse.
