Sunscreen as primer?

Since I started using TO Granactive 2% retinol I've been careful to apply the LRP Helios 50spf sunscreen every morning.

I let it sink in for about 15 minutes while I Blow-dry my hair, then I apply my Smashbox primer + Laura Mercier Candleglow foundation.

But I feel like I just have too much product on my skin and I don't like it. I love my Smashbox primer but I'm thinking won't the LRP sunscreen almost work like a primer?

I wish Smashbox would produce their primers in a high SPF.

Bare Minerals do an SPF 30 primer. It was ok but my skin is too oily for it. MAC do an SPF 50 one but the reviews say it isn’t great for oily skin so I haven’t tried it.
