Dress for wedding guest

Hello....

Do you think this dress is appropriate for guest at a summer wedding ? The top layer is see through but had a long black slip underneath.

I'm not really a dressed up kinda person, when I picture wedding guest outfits I imagine the type of outfits you see for a posh day at the races, all fitted dresses, with matching hats, bag and shoes. That's definitely not my style.

I was planning on wearing a pair to dusty pink velvet heels and jewel coloured clutch??

Thanks

Oh that's lovely!

Elledorado · 25/02/2018 11:48

looks perfect to me.

MybabygirlD · 25/02/2018 12:46

I think it's a lovely dress but you might be a bit warm.
Definitely suitable for a wedding but I'd say maybe winter rather than summer

princessbear80 · 25/02/2018 12:53

That is a beautiful dress. I would have bought that too for a wedding I’m going to, but like pp have said, maybe too warm for a summer wedding. Please update with what you find, as your style is similar to mine!

princessbear80 · 25/02/2018 12:55

And I’ll post if I find anything!

ScarlettDarling · 25/02/2018 12:56

It's gorgeous but if it's a beautiful summers day you are going to boil and feel far too wintery. It's a great price so I'd buy it anyway but perhaps have another outfit ready in case it's a hot day.

homefromworklate · 25/02/2018 13:22

Thanks everyone. The materials is soo thin and sheer. Totally see through except for a thin black slip underneath so I'm hoping I won't get too hot. Plus I'm also edging by bets that the British weather will be as disappointing as ever.

I have a christening to go to in April so will keep it and I can use it for that if I find something else for the wedding.

Thanks for all your opinions, I'm glad everyone thinks it's a nice dress, I was doubting myself.

@princessbear80 I'll keep you posted Smile

So I have now got a few other options

I do prefer a long sleeve so I might just have to accept it might be warm during the day.

The orange and gold dress is lovely but the back means I'll struggle to wear a bra.

The green dress I could order and the orange bold print dress I already own but have never worn.

I really like the first dress. I’m a warm person so wouldn’t choose it for summer, but it’s lovely. The light green one in your later post would be my next choice.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 25/02/2018 19:06

I'd stick with the first dress. Can't imagine the UK being too hot for it. Also love the green one. Very similar to a navy one I wore to a wedding recently.

homefromworklate · 25/02/2018 20:38

Thanks. I think I will stick with the first one. I have planned all my accessories now too.

Love the green one too, we have another wedding to attend so I may still purchase it Smile

I think the Orange and gold dress is beautiful, by far my favourite of all of your options. The green one is very pretty too but I don't like the bold print orange dress at all.

You have lots of lovely options....I'm sure you'll look great.
