Hooded eyes, what are the options?

I've got to the stage where I can't bear to look in the mirror. My eyelids are heading south and on my right eye it's sitting on my eyelashes and you can't see my lower eyelid at all. I think it's beyond Botox and probably I should consider blepharoplasty. Are there any other options? If I go down this route how to find a good surgeon? Surrey/London. Would appreciate any help or advice especially if you've had it done. And any recommendations fir surgeons to look at too. Wink

I have my eyebrows lifted by Botox which lifts my hooded eyelids. I'd desperately love to get on with the stickers but I binned them in frustration

Tantpoke · 27/02/2018 14:25

There's a huge difference between hooded eyelids and what the OP has which really does call for blepharoplasty.

Both these surgeons are excellent Charles Nduka and John Pereira both work in the SE. I'm sure there are many more but I can only vouch for these.

I had my upper eyelids done 4 weeks ago. It was done under a local anisthetic and I was in and out of theatre in under an hour. I had barely any bruising and have had no complications healing. Well worth the money have spent a fortune in creams over the years wish I had done it sooner.

I'm pretty certain I'll get mine done. Eyelid tape is only a temporary solution. Hooded eyes can look lovely I agree but mine are just saggy old baggy old eyelids now. Any recommendations in the north west? The c£3k is with mr halliwell who's fantastic but £2k difference is a lot and makes it far more achievable.

Thanks so much for the posting the pics, bella, your eyes look great!

Yes they can look great but with age they will just start to get in the way!

cheeseandbiscuitsplease · 27/02/2018 17:04

Wow Bella good for you. Great results! I’m saving up. Smile

Bella912 · 27/02/2018 18:01

So pleased I done it and it was nowhere near as bad as I imagined. Though I know another mnetter who has it done on the exact same day and she is still bruised poor love. Well worth it though. I had lvl lashes done today too and they look fab now

MrsElvis · 28/02/2018 10:59

@Bella912 wow Bella they look great. Was this around 3k?

PhilomenaB · 28/02/2018 11:10

It's really important to get a good surgeon and be aware of the risks. This is supposedly and easy op , but if it goes wrong you can be left with not enough lid and eyes that cannot close properly. There is also the risk of infection and scarring though in the upper eyelid this is not so visible.
Just make sure you see someone really good!

I’ve just had a brow lift and upper eyelid surgery done a month ago and it was around 6.5k and definitely not a small surgery so I’m not sure I’d recommend.

I had very hooded eyes, particularly on one side. The recovery time from bruising and swelling is about two weeks but I’ve no idea how long it will take for the scars to fade. I imagine at least 6 months in my case although I am using a special scar gel. I’ll see if I can attach a few photos.

This was straight after...

SleepFreeZone · 12/03/2018 11:20

This is a month later. You can see the scar that will hopefully fade to white 😬

And I desparebtly need my eyebrows sorting out but I’m going to go to a recommended salon that does microblading as they need a new shape that’s not halfway down my face 😜

Thank you. To be honest I was probably hoping with the brow lift as well I’d come out looking like Kylie Minogue but my surgeon was very conservative and wanted me to look normal so I’m probably a little disappointed if I’m honest.

I’ve I’d just had the upper eye lift alone I think it was about 3k and would have been done under local.

SukiTheDog · 12/03/2018 17:14

Yep, see your gp and ask for a referral. If it’s affecting your vision and daily life, the NHS should sort for you 😊
