The weather is getting more spring-like with cool, sunny days and I'm starting to think about new wardrobe "staples" for the spring. I don't want to be bundled up under my down parka and my winter wool coat is past its best and too warm now too. I always find this time of year a bit tricky in relation to outerwear so would like some advice or suggestions on jackets/coats for the next few months into summer. What do you all wear for casual (on the smart side) outerwear at this time of year? Like to feel (attempt to look) stylish but stay comfortable and cosy too whilst chasing after young kids, doing shopping etc. I'm on the short side

Where do you live? it's freezing here! Grin
I think spring coats are tricky and much more dependent on your style personality. You could do denim jacket, bomber jacket, trench coat, thin wool coat, jersey blazer, lined waterproof, quilted jacket. I have the last three being unable to pull off the cool casual look of the first two and not having the lifestyle that merits the third and fourth ( tho tempted). I also have a gilet I like for in between, in / out of the car days. I Could spend a fortune on every outerwear eventuality!

Ha! Yeah well it's not exactly warm here either (North West) but I'm getting carried away with the gorgeous sunshine and blue skies we've had for the past few days. Hoping that temps will rise a bit in the next month or so.
Thanks for those suggestions Tatapie. I have a lined showerproof jacket from Joules (nautical style), but it's a bit too bright for everyday and a lovely fawn trench but it's too dressy and not a practical colour for school runs etc. I'm an apple and about a stone heavier than I'd like so denim jackets tend to look a bit boxy? I think some kind of quilted jacket might be the answer. Off to search now...
