Acne or maybe rosacea? How to tell?

I thought I had hormonal cyst spots on my cheeks, jaw line and neck. Lumpy, no head, red, sore and itchy. I’ve always been spotty so assumed this was a new phase in my spotty skin, changes with age etc.

My chin nose and forehead used to be problem areas, cheeks never bad. But now it’s the opposite.

After seeing a few things online (yes I know Dr Google is not to be trusted) I’m now wondering if it’s rosacea - type 2 papulopustular rosacea.

The spots are red and itchy and don’t respond to spot creams. And they last for ages!

I don’t wear make up often. My skin care routine is basic but try to be gentle. Lush ultrabland and vanishing cream moisturiser. I get on better with them than la Roche Possay effaclar range I had but obviously my skin is still not happy.

I’ve got a dr appointment for next week but wondered what the wise ladies of MN thought.

Could be both! I went to the GP for the huge hormonal spots and to my surprise came out with a rosacea dx!

Soolantra cream has really cleared up the general look of my skin but sadly I still get the mahoosive chin and cheek spots

Look, if it's really rosacea then you need a prescription from a dr not some randome beauty products.
Go to the GP and talk to them.
I have rosacea and soolantra helped tremendously.
