Castings semi-permanent colour. Did the instructions change?

I've used this hair colour many times in the past and always put it on dry hair. I used it again today and just mixed the colour as usual and applied it. I gave a quick glance at the instructions after applying* and now notice it said to wet and towel dry hair first.

I don't ever recall doing that and it's always worked fine. Now I'm not too sure if today's attempt will work that well.

*And yes I am aware of the lack of login in reading the instructions after using. Grin Grin

Did the instructions change or have I been using it incorrectly for years?

I always thought semi permanent colours went on wet hair and permanent colours tend to go on dry hair

I've been using this product for at least 15 years and have always wet hair and towel dried before applying.

Now I'm doubting myself. Maybe I used to wet my hair.
I've had a stressful 6 months - maybe I'm losing the plot.

I've used Castings quite a few times over the years, and I'm 99% certain I always wet my hair first.

It worked perfectly. That's why I love Castings. Impossible to mess up even if you don't follow the instructions.
Think I will wet hair though, next time.

I've used it for 20 years and it's always on damp hair. They changed the gloves to useless ones a few years ago, so I've bought a box of decent disposable gloves from Home Bargains which I use instead. My top tip is to pop a disposable hotel shower cap on.whilst the colour is developing. It's saves a lot of mess. I used to use cling film but the shower cap is quicker and easier.
