Curling hair on holidays

I usually dry my hair with my Babyliss Big Hair styler, then use Babyliss Curl Pods.
I could pack the BBH for my holiday in Italy, with a travel adaptor, but what could I use instead of the Curl Pods, as they are too bulky to pack?
Will probably just wear my hair up in the day for sightseeing, as it will be hot, but would like to be able to smarten up for the evening, and wear my hair down.

Wear it up in twisty buns/plaits during the day then when you take it down in the evening it will be curly/wavy. This is what I do. Or, if your hair is anything like mine, I find the humidity/sea salt give it a natural curl on holiday so sometimes I just need to scrunch it.
