I think I'm losing a finger nail.

Following an accident with a car door , I fear that I'm going to lose my finger nail in the not too distant future. Keeping my nails painted to avoid seeing the carnage which was my nail. Any tips how to get through the next few months with 9 nails - without it looking too revolting!

I lost my nail about 6 months ago. Actually, I lost my finger just below my nail and they stitched it all back on and my nail fell off.
Honestly, no one has noticed, and I don’t notice it anymore.
But I don’t wear nail polish and think it would probably stand out more if I did.

It’s nearly grown back now, but I’m having trouble with it growing in to the skin on the side. So be careful of that.

It fucking hurts trapping you finger, so you have my sympathies!

I have a colleague who is missing a toenail. It fell off after a car door incident and never grew back. It's healed now and looks okay (even to me; and I hate feet!) but she has had to give up painting her toe nails and she moans about that every now and again. Leaving it unpainted or painting the skin both seem to just draw attention to it if her other nails are painted.
