Help find me a dress for my Mum’s 60th

I’ve been drawing a blank everywhere I go and would love some help. I need a dress for my Mum’s 60th birthday party in a couple of weeks. It’s only in a pub so not totally dressy but I’d really like to look nice.
(Without wanting to drip feed, I split up with my husband of 13 years around a year ago and my family weren’t the most supportive over it. I’ll see people there I haven’t seen since and want to look AWESOME!)

Things I like:

  • Swing / tunic dresses
  • T shirt shaped dresses
  • Grey, red, black, denim
  • Interesting prints (galaxy, stars....)
  • Beading and sequins
  • Short (I have good legs)
  • Big floral prints

Things I do not like:

  • 50’s style dresses
  • Skater style, fit and flare
  • Stupid voluminous sleeves
  • Cold shoulders, Bardot style tops, fake choker necklines
  • Twee or ditsy florals

Shops I like include Zara, & Other Stories, Cos, John Lewis Kin, Warehouse, H&M, Topshop

I’m 5ft7, 37, good legs and arms, fat tummied size 14 so not clingy or too fitted. Would prefer sleeves and to wear a bra...
Can spend up to around £60.
Please help if you can!

have you looked at silk Fred?

NewPantsforaNewYear · 16/02/2018 20:49

This is pretty short but seems to fit the brief.

Watching with interest.

You seem to have the same taste/shape as me OP and I have a friends 40th birthday bash coming up soon.

I quite like this (paired with some rose gold sandals?)

Hmmm- thank you for all the suggestions.
From my extensive list, you can probably see I am pretty difficult to please. I’m not sure about all the florals. I like an odd interesting old Liberty style floral but am unsure of the newer prints.
I like animal print and glitter too. Considering the Hush Easy Glitter dress- perhaps my style is simpler than I’ve explained???Hmm
I can’t dk short clicks links though!

Those ASOS ones are more my style.
I wore one like the second as a teenager!

I looked at the Pimkie galaxy one earlier but they only have a tiny size. I like that oneEnvy

Sorry OP, didn't look at the sizing! I love the galaxy/star print

captainflash · 17/02/2018 08:34

Bumping for the daytime crowd.
I think the last Topshop one is probably my favourite so far. (Other than the Pimkie Asos one that probably wouldn’t go around my armEnvy) But, I don’t know if I’d need a M or L so probably need to see if I can find it in store.

I probably sound pretty shallow- seeing as it’s not my party- but I took such a knock with the split and I’ve put on a bit of weight too. Just want to look nice and show everyone I’m ok I guess.
Thanks
