What do you do?

My skincare is shit, make-up looks shit and I feel like shit. Hello 54.

It’s my birthday and I’m looking awful. Using Liquid Gold, Ren bioretinoid, Clinique intense surge and Dermalogica stuff but my face is pimply, red and pissed off. Much like myself.

I bought bareminerals original powder and an expensive kabuki brush and all that buffing is stretching my skin every which way.

Please help, I didn’t used to be this vain but I’m not used to looking this crap.

newseeker I have the LRP toleraine fluide non oily emulsion and it definitely doesnt have shea butter in it Confused I wonder where you are doing your research? here are some links to avoid confusion

and the Clinique moisture surge literally smells of nothing imho possibly at a push water.

Too much on your face. I'm older than you and use water baby wipes which double as a good sloughing exfoliating devise. Then I use coconut oil/rosehip or almond oil which sinks in very quickly. Then I use a non mineral concealer stick, also put a bit in other areas I may need. Curl eyelashes and add waterproof mascara. Bit of blush and touch of rose tinted burts bees . Less is more. O...I do face exercises to keep face lifted too. Takes work and time but does the job 😊

Also sleep, good sleep is essential as that is when our bodies repair, heal and renew

Tantpoke · 17/02/2018 19:51

Oh Dotty your skincare routine would give me cystic spots and dry scabby redness in no time - interesting though how different people need completely different routines for their particular skin type.

Didn't read all the replies so sorry if already mentioned

Freezing cold water in the sink. I've if u have it. Dip you face in the water. Gently rub with a damp flannel (upwards) and repeat a couple of time.

A light dab if usually moisturiser.

It tightens everything up and makes u feel a tad more fresh

Mrsjellybum · 17/02/2018 20:05
  • Ice not I've

I'm reading this with interest, I'm 45 and do not do much to my skin (in the morning wash with Faith in Nature face wash, rinse with very cold water and moisturise w L'Oréal, in the evening just moisturise). My skin is just so uneven and grey, am so fed up. Would a dermatologist not try to get you to have treatments like peels etc, can they be unbiased?

DottyDotts · 17/02/2018 20:51

Tante it is interesting to see how different people treat their skin. I'm mid 50s but have always had good skin and not had to use anything on it. The only time I developed acne was at 17 having moved from a hot climate to the uk.

Tantpoke · 18/02/2018 14:22

dotty you are very lucky. My mum has amazing skin and just uses nivea soft moisturiser to cleanse and again to moisturise Envy this is not something I could ever get away with (very sensitive skin)
