Formal or cocktail dress for a long torso

My body is incredibly out of balance and I absolutely hate dress shopping. I need a proper, gorgeous party dress, budget up to around £400. I can't wear anything with a defined waist because it sits just below my boobs and I look ridiculous. I'm dreading it. The only place I've tried so far is Coast, and it just reminded me how much I hate dress shopping. I'm a curvy size 12 (need to be able to wear a bra, although can get away with strapless). Please help! Normal high street shops will not work.

I’d look for an empire line dress that gathers just under your bust.

I know in theory empire lines should work, but because I have big boobs and curvy hips, unfortunately they just make me look pregnant. I need something that defines my waist because that's my smallest area

That’s a bit like me tbh,

I don’t know how formal you need but I have ordered from here before. They are US based but ship to the U.K. you might find something suitable.

Olennas - thank you. I really appreciate your trawling through the outnet! I have actually been looking on there, but was a bit nervous about ordering loads of dresses and the amount of money it meant going on my credit card! I saw this one which I might order to try:

I went shopping today which was just depressing. I think I need to start looking for some 2 pieces.
