Think I'm going to get a fringe cut

Dark brown hair, bit wavy, quite thick and heavy so tends to dangle when it gets below shoulder length.

I'm 48 and the dangling is starting to feel a bit ageing. Thinking of having a choppy chin length bob with fringe - see picture.

Is this style a bit young, do you think?

How would you dry it or what products would you use to get that texture in the picture?

TheMathsTrainee · 09/02/2018 21:22

Yep, having a fringe is much tidier, and a textured cut with fringe is very low maintenance. I don't use any products....just big brush and blow dry....but that's what works for my hair.

Mrsjellybum · 10/02/2018 06:33

I like it.
But a hot brush so u can easily neaten it up in the morning

christinarossetti · 10/02/2018 08:25

Thank you all! Now can't wait!

Have a hair apt this afternoon and will update later.

Pics please! :)

Spartacunt · 10/02/2018 12:53

I'd go for the fringe but not the layers - they look way too short and will need endless styling...

TossDaily · 10/02/2018 13:00

Love my fringe. It's the only thing standing between me and Botox.

christinarossetti · 10/02/2018 19:14

This is completely outing to anyone who knows me, but...

Before...

And after....

Not obvious from the pictures, but it takes years off me and feels utterly liberating! Very pleased.

Looks like a lovely cut. X

Luckycatsplat · 10/02/2018 20:43

That's fab!

goose1964 · 10/02/2018 20:51

I have wavy/ loose curls last time I had a fringe it curled very tightly and my hair won't hold a style so straightening it wasn't an option.I haven't had a fringe since

IfyouseeRitaMoreno · 10/02/2018 20:54

Looks brilliant! Stylish and a bit French. You should join the Parisiennes on Mumsnet thread now Grin

raspberrycordial · 10/02/2018 20:55

My trick for the perfect fringe was to put a medium Velcro roller in it while I did my makeup-kept it out of the way and gave it volume and got rid of the frizz at the same time-very low maintenance and my hair looks rubbish unless I straighten/curl it.

raspberrycordial · 10/02/2018 20:56

Ps, looks fab!

Bluebiscuits · 10/02/2018 21:01

Very nice indeed!

Honey1975 · 10/02/2018 21:21

That looks lovely. Could you tell me what you asked for for the rest of your style, is it very layered? I too am thinking whether to have a fringe cut. At the moment my hair looks like a triangular bob so am thinking I might look like a lego head if I do it. I think I need more shape like yours has but I'm not sure what to ask for.

Violetparis · 10/02/2018 21:27

Another request please for what style you asked for at the hairdressers, or did you take in the original photo you posted ? I have a long straight bob at the moment and I'm so bored with it, I want your hair, it looks fab.

christinarossetti · 11/02/2018 08:37

Thank you! Yes, I took the picture in. I have to have layers to avoid the Crystal tips look, so aside from the fringe it's what I'd usually have.

Definitely lifts my face and makes me look younger.
