If so, were you happy with the results? Any complications?

Yup, I got one three weeks ago. Still some swelling but I'm really, really happy with the results. I bruised more than I expected to so I guess that was the only complication. I'm covering the bruises at the moment with Vichy Dermablend foundation which is super high coverage. You can't really leave the house for the first week as you will have stitches in your upper eyelids but after the stitches are removed, as long as you don't bruise too much you probably wouldn't know you had surgery.
I'm 43 and fairly happy with my skin and signs of age but my eyelids were quite bad.

My elderly mum had it done on the nhs as it was affecting her ability to drive/read/see the TV. She was delighted with the result. Took years off her!

can i ask how much it costs?

Wellhellothere1 · 07/02/2018 18:18

Mine was £1200 and discounted to £1000 as I know the surgeon through work. I'm in Scotland which I gather is cheaper than the rest of the UK for this procedure.

Gosh that's cheap! Seems to be £2500 plus here in (S) England, under local anaesthetic (obviously more for general).
Was your surgeon a specialist oculoplastic one, or a general plastic surgeon?

My surgeon was a general plastic surgeon who carries out mostly NHS work as works privately 1 day per week. It was under local anaesthetic. I think they would only use general if you get upper and lower blepharoplasty done at the same time.

I also had this done on the same day as wellhellothere. I am delighted with my results and had no bruising apart from a tiny patch under one eye. I too am in Scotland and used spire - £2750. I had a local anisthetic and a sedative, procedure was a breeze and I was in and out within 45 minutes.
