Static cling-faux leather trousers

Just wanted to see if the collective genius of mumsnet has any tips for this. I just bought a suuuper cheap pair of faux leather trousers from ASOS. I wanted to try the look out before committing to a bigger cost. They actually look quite good (are not skin tight but actually more of a peg leg style) but are let down by seeming to be super static-clingy which makes them loose their shape.

Is there something I can do to stop the static cling or will they just have to go back?

Talcum powder may help, Lush do a very fine one which is especially to stop clothes clinging

Moisturiser may help. When I was at school I had a uniform I had to wear for voluntary work and someone showed me how a bit of moisturiser applied right on your tights will stop your skirt from clinging to them. You can also buy anti-static spray from John Lewis, Amazon etc.

A wipe with dryer sheet might help.
