Right. I'm having a facial at an Elizabeth Arden counter and the booking fee is redeemable if I buy a product. So - what should I buy? Favourite/best Elizabeth Arden products please

Ooo lucky you

I've only used the 8hr travel pack and love the traditional 8hr cream and lipstick balm

Was tempted by the spritz/facial spray at Christmas

Enjoy!

Tablefor4 · 03/02/2018 21:35

Thank you! The eight hour one is the famous one, perhaps I should go for that

I don't know but want to ask a sneaky side question that has always troubled me:

  1. What on earth do people use the 8hour cream for?! I want to love it but it is so sticky?!
  2. Doesn't the smell of it put people off? It smells like medicine.

Thank you. Sorry for hijacking...

EA is the best ever. I spend a fortune on it but at nearly 40, when people think I'm 25 makes it worth it for me.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 03/02/2018 22:06

I always wear EA lipstick as they're the best I've found.

Tablefor4 · 03/02/2018 23:14

willowy - so glad you asked that. What does the 8 hr do?

TimmyToo - I definitely need some of that!

I use 8 hour cream on my lips, cuticles, dry elbows, around my nose when it goes flaky after a cold.
I love the lip balm.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 03/02/2018 23:18

I don't really have much to input but I've been quite keen to get some EA stuff and keep eyeing it up every so often. Hope you don't mind me plonking myself here!

CointreauVersial · 03/02/2018 23:42

The Pure Finish mineral powder foundation is my absolute fave, and I've used it for years.

It has a little twisty thing in the base to grind a little bit of loose powder, so it's not messy to use.

Bimbler · 04/02/2018 00:10

Elizabeth Arden is one of the brands I just never think of. But I remember Sali Hughes raving about their lipsticks so that's probably where I'd start. And now that I think of it doesn't EA have those ceramide capsule things too?

JW13 · 04/02/2018 00:14

@WillowySnicket I use the 8 hour cream all the time. Mainly for dry/chapped lips but also on my nose if it's sore from a cold or other patches of very dry skin. It's the only thing that works for my lips. My DH puts it all over his hands - he has very very dry skin. He's now always stealing mine though Hmm

The smell is an acquired taste! I hated it at first but it grew on me. I think you can get a fragrance free version now though.

Also the 8 hour lip balm sticks are great (including the coloured ones for a subtle lip colour).

AdoraBell · 04/02/2018 00:20

I’ve never used EA. That 8 hour cream sounds good though.

WillowySnicket · 04/02/2018 09:41

Ah thanks, @JW13 . Maybe I'll give it another shot as I have perpetually chapped everything.

Tablefor4 · 04/02/2018 12:13

unicorns if you are near Oxford Street Debenhams in London EA is doing a promotion on facials for £15 in Feb. Google Red Door salon.

I have been using their Prevage moisturiser, I find it really nice and doesn't leave a greasy residue.

Tablefor4 · 04/02/2018 12:37

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I've not got dry skin so may go for the mineral powder or lipstick
